  1. Could someone please repost the Fruit Jar info? My phone is not allowing me to look at older posts. I'll be off the next seven days and would enjoy getting to meet you guys.
  2. Looks like someone ran into one in mill creek. That probably left s mark.

    Big bass memories

  4. I forgot a rod and reel at my house on the porch one morning. Fished all day then when I came back to the boat ramp a old man was fishing off the dock. I made small talk with him while my buddy fetched the truck. In about five minutes he managed to talk me into giving him all the big bream we caught when the bass bite was slow and out of a few beers. I did not mind because he looked like he did not have much. However; I noticed he had a rod and reel just like the one I left at my house. It was not until we got home an hour later that I learned my buddy saw the rod and reel on my porch and put it in the back of my truck. Needless to say, the old fart got my fish, beer, rod and reel!
  5. South East Ks unit 12 and 13. I apologize it's Hickory Creek Outfitters.
  6. As much time as I spend in the wilderness camping, hiking, hunting, kayaking, and fishing I must be either the luckiest outdoorsman or the most unaware of my surroundings to never have had any close encounters with any strange creatures. Now I have had close calls with many animals that no doubt could harm me but none that was a shock to see. But who knows, perhaps my next trip out I will see a purple unicorn fly over the river with a troll riding him bareback into the sunset while a mermaid sits on a rock in as much shock as I will be in. But they had better move quick because I always have my camera! There is lots of wilderness to hide strange creators in so you never know what's out there so keep a camera and an old trusty firearm with you at all times.
  7. Great news brother! You will be stealing bases and hooking bass in no time!
  8. I also whipped a cottonmouth pretty good with my pitching rod, was not my ideal weapon but it got the job done. Snakes not welcome in my boat!
  9. I have eight rods in my boat. I use about ten technics. I utilizes a few as multipurpose rigs. I may use my extra heavy jig rod for frogs, my senko rod for light T-rig, or a popping rod with a jerk bait. But for years all I had was two rigs and did not ever feel limited. I just made due with what I had. I would use medium action rod with 12lb mono and had a heavy action with 50lb braid and got by just fine.
  10. Just sent one up for you my friend!
  11. Do you wear a wedding ring? Sometimes my pinky will hurt on a hard hook set but its from my ring pressing against my pinky finger. If I'm pitching our flipping I'll take it off and hang it on my neckless.
  12. I've been away from the board a few days and after catching up on all the discussions I feel the need to thank everybody for their unselfishness on the forum. Nobody is obligated to share reports and tips, it's from kindness and a willingness to help the fellow angler improve their skill set. So again, thank you all!
  13. Awesome! I have been bringing my dog for 12 years. Loading her up now is like making sure the plug is in the boat, just comes natural after so long. When it gets hot I bring her back to the camp but sometimes find myself still talking to her when she is not even there.. Lol. Other boaters probably think I'm crazy.
  14. Great story! Catching big bass in a beautiful place will stick with you forever. Thanks for sharing the story.
  15. I will show my wife these posts. Lol. She thinks I'm the only person who has a problem. She'll suggest we have a fishermen's anonymous meeting to discuss our addiction and how to over come the big bass fever. Lucky for me she loves fried fish!
