Does your battery tray have enough room to drill a couple holes and use the automotive style J hook hold downs? If not how about replacing the tray with an automotive one? Most auto stores have "universal" trays for around $10-15.

I'll have to look into it some more then. Thank you. Battery space isn't an issue, there's enough room under the engine cover for probably 4 more batteries. Rod and tackle storage unfortunately isn't so easy to come by on this boat.

I looks just like this one, but with out the top. 1992 Glastron G1700 with a 3.0 Mercruiser and Alpha One drive. I'm going to build a front deck I can set in place after removing the seat cushions. I'm not sure how strong the engine cover is so not sure if it would support me standing on it or not, but there is a short swim deck on the rear that isn't seen in this picture's angle. I cant mount a trolling motor to the bow due to it's shape....no flat surfaces. Besides she doesn't want me drilling holes into it. So any modifications I do need to be completely reversible, and easily done too for when it's in "family mode". The in-floor ski locker is too short to fit my rods so I need to come up with a way to secure them while cruising to my fishing holes. It does have an el cheepo fish finder, a Humminbird 150, so at least it's something. Unfortunately the transducer is mounted to the hull below the engine by the bilge pump, so I don't get accurate water temps. Looking to get a temp sensor add on for it. Just trying to make due until I can add a bass boat to my vehicle collection.

I'm just wondering if anybody else uses a ski boat for fishing. I wasn't able to get a bass boat approved by my lil lady, and didn't find a fish/ski boat we both liked in our price range. In order to even get a boat I had to settle and get a ski boat to make the Mrs. happy. At least I'm off the bank and not killing myself on my kayak. Anyways, since I got it a couple weeks ago I've been making plans in my head and taking measurements for removable modifications I can make to make it easier to fish from. I've also been scouring the web for ideas. Thought I'd ask to see if any of yall here are stuck doing the same thing and what ideas you've come up with.

Hey yall. Been watching Glenn's videos on YouTube for a while now, figured I'd come check out the forum he always mentions. I grew up fishing a lot with my Dad, but when I got into my teens I lost interest. Now in my early 30's the interest has come back. Fishing regularly now and been using Glenn's videos to get back up to speed and learn a LOT more than I thought I knew.
