  1. They don't look to bad, but I feel it's gimiky (if that's a word). I also don't believe its going to be a magic lure, I also believe that if a fish will hit this that same fish would hit a hollow frog without hesitation. IMHO live target is more worried about their products catching the fisherman instead of the fish, and this is why I don't own any of their products.
  2. I think I'd be pretty apprehensive about taking a fiberglass boat anywhere in the upper Potomac, but maybe that's just me. If you put this in the Marylander who's who thread I'm sure the guys there could help you out as it seems the majority of the guys that reply to that thread are from up that way.
  3. 1/8 oz shad dart with a 1" gulp minnow under a bobber
  4. Heres a great forecaster and he usually hits it right on the head:
  5. Marylands a pretty big state, so telling where your at might help keep you closer to home. Liberty, Pretty Boy, Loch Raven Reservoirs are all great areas in the central area. I also noticed you were asking about catfish and stripers, well in that case the susky flats are a great area for both
  6. His quality is way above anything your gonna get in any of the brick and mortar stores, he's also pretty fast. I placed an order on Saturday for a dozen jigs a half dozen fogys and some Ragetail baby craws and it shipped out this morning.
  7. Nope they're already dropping in MD. A buddy of mine shot a nine pointer last week and when she walked up on it during the recovery it was missing an antler and as she grabbed the other antler it fell off in her hand. The deer was laying on top of the other one
  8. 4" roboworm, rage craw or SK dreamshots are all great baits. I will say last year the dreamshots out produced everything else I tried.
  9. 50# PP Braid, with all the skirt strands I don't think that the braid even matters. But that's nothing a flouro leader wouldn't fix if it's that bothersome to you. The places where I choose to toss jigs into usually calls for braid, if I was to use flouro I'd be retying every other cast.
  10. Siebert outdoors
  11. What brand 55s are you running to get 8 mph out of them? I ask because I'm running 2-55s out back with a 55 upfront and I'm no where near that speed even with all three motors running. I primarily fish Liberty as well as 3 of my buddies who are also running 55s and we all run about the same speed which again isn't close to 8mph. Not that it matters speed wise but I'm running 4-6volt golf cart batteries for my travel motors and 2-12s in the front for my bow mount.
  12. I agree with RW for the most part, it's all about what color your confident throwing. When I was a kid and my uncle first taught me about a pig and jig, it was all about brown and red or black and red with uncle josh pork frogs in either brown or black
  13. Check this thing out: http://fox2now.com/2016/01/09/deformed-mountain-lion-a-mystery/
  14. Check out Sebert Outdoors Fogy, I started using them last spring. I feel they're the best out there, the ZMan ones are junk. Besides Sebert Outdoors is a site sponsor, and their bladed jigs cost way less them the ZMan junk. I started out using the ZMan, but had trouble with the blades falling off, the skirts falling off and the blades are so thin that they bend up and the finish flakes right off. Now some people are claiming that ZMan revamped them and they're of better quality now, but IMHO they should've put out a quality product to begin with instead of junk therefore I won't buy their bladed jigs ever again
  15. Do your self a favor and go get a pair of Costas with the 580g lens and don't look back. They are leaps and bounds above any glasses that Oakley puts out..
  16. I have both and to be honest the only real difference that I see is that PP holds its color way better. I have two rods that have 832 and they're bleached out pretty good as where the two with PP seem to look almost new in color, and the PP has been on the rods about 6 months longer...
  17. 10 lb braid with a mono leader is what I use. In case of a snag this will allow you to break off at the leader so as not lose the majority of your line. Just try and use the same diameter lines, in other words if your using a 4lb leader use braid of the same diameter not pound rating and joining the two together will be much easier then with different diameter lines.
  18. If I had a local buyer I would, but im not messing around with listing and shipping stuff.
  19. Since they're a coated lens it won't shatter like that but it will crack, don't ask how I know and it's not from a lure. But to be honest before I'd let a lure hit me in the face I'd try and catch it with my hand, I'd much rather pull some hooks out of my hand rather then my face.
  20. 580g and don't look back, you won't be dissapointed
  21. You might want to try someone else's out first when it comes to the 4.9 ratios. I recently put together a new cranking setup and I put a 4.9 on it, and It was so slow that it drove me nuts. I use a 6.3 on my cranking setup and I love it even with deep cranking. Now my 4.9 sits in a closet with all my other spare and extra stuff, all it was is just a waste of $150...
  22. I carry the telescopic one on my boat and it's already paid for its self three times over just getting my stuff back. I've probably claimed at least 7 or 8 lures that were just hanging in trees that other guys lost as a bonus..
  23. I'm leaving MD Wednesday morning to head to Florida for a week, so heck yea I'm definitely fishing Christmas Day. I'm going to visit my mother and she has a freshwater canal right out back of her house, along with a couple of kayaks. From what I gather the bass spawn Jan. through May so I would think they're eating pretty decent, at least I hope so.
  24. You can get air dry cerakote now, but if it were me I'd go the bake on route as it holds up much better just make sure you use a HVLP sprayer.
  25. I agree buy both, the ability to be able to just plug in and forget it is great when it comes to the boat. You can pick up a small cheapie to charge the truck when need be.
