  1. I bought a pair of fantail 580g's and they're hands down the best glasses I've owned, and this is compared to Maui Jim's and oakleys. Although the Maui Jims are great glasses just not as good to fishing IMO, now oakleys on the other hand aren't worth a fraction of what they cost.
  2. Nope, I like the feel of the cork. I dont like the look or feel of that sealer, its not that hard to clean them up with a magic eraser once a year. I bought a used St Croix cranking rod a few years back that was sealed by the previous owner, and honestly I turned around and sold it for a couple dollar loss just because I didnt like the feel.
  3. Shame it's a bunch of the lucky craft stuff that I don't use, why can't it be staysee 90s or slender pointers. Oh well no money spent is a good thing.
  4. Another vote for Sieberts,
  5. Check out this link, there's a lot of awesome info in here for someone getting into jerkbait fishing:
  6. Honestly I have a jerk bait tied to a rod year round, and they work year round.
  7. Definitely watch the line, but Ive caught a lot of fish that was there when I went to give the rod a jerk. I didn't even really feel or detect a bite they were just there on the jerk. I've also caught a few dead sticking a suspending bait with the rod in the holder casted out the opposite side of the boat. All of a sudden the rod is down, I generally do this with deeper diving baits as being on the opposite side of the boat its generally in deeper water
  8. Drop shot does it for me, but everyone swears by the Ned rig. I'll probably give the Ned rig a go this year.
  9. Spinnerbaits are one of the baits that can be fished year round just by using various retrieves, anywhere from slow rolling it across the bottom to burning it right across the top of the water. They can be fished on spinning or casting on a med to med/hvy fast tipped gear, I personally use med/hvy fast casting gear with 15# copolymer.
  10. Can't personally speak for the KVD but the staysee 90 is the real deal as far as doing what LC claims it to do. From my experience the smallies really seem to like these baits.
  11. Again to each his own, but to everyone who claims its safer then cigarettes. Well it may be safer to walk in front of a moving car then a moving train, but they'll both kill you the same.
  12. Check out this thread it may answer a lot of your questions:
  13. Sure looks like it here:
  14. I like the colorado blades and fish them more then any other spinnerbaits. When you look in the spinnerbait isle almost everything you see is willow leafed and this one of the reasons I use the Colorado blades. I feel it gives something a little different then the next guy. Well at least the majority of the time.
  15. I was out with a buddy while he was trying his out, I wasn't overly impressed. It kind of reminds me of a boogie board. I feel there's a lot of others lures that way up higher on the gotta have list then these
  16. I totally understand about the general idea, and it is kinda crazy. But from what Ive seen on the marijuana end is that once the flower is vaporized it still looks like a flower just dried out. When you use a ecig that complete bottle of juice is inhaled. To me its kind of like making shine in the fact that you take your mash and heat it to 173 degrees and the alcohol just steams out and leaves a pot full of water and corn behind. I will say that I do feel its safer then smoking cigarettes, but how much is the real question. Someone earlier mentioned that you could go to the vape forums for studies, but I'll bet them studies were done by the vape companies. If it were done by university or someone with an unbiased opinion I think the outcome would be entirely different.
  17. The way that they vaporize marijuana isn't even close to them vape things. Vapes or Ecigs are chemicals that are heated up and you inhale the steam or vapor or whatever it is. Now a marijuana vaporizer is basically an oven that heats the marijuana to the point that the THC steams off ( for lack of better words) and the marijuana is never actually burnt. No chemicals are added nor is the marijuana changed from its vegetive state even after being consumed. I guess in some ways it's the same but I when using a vape that's man made chemicals your inhaling.
  18. To each his own, but there is no way I'd puff on one of them. I was a smoker for many years and quit cold turkey about 15 years ago, and will never pick another one up. What I can't stand about them vape things is the guys that will use them in stores or restaurants. People using these should have to abide by the same laws as a smoker. I don't want to breathe that stuff as I will never believe that it's not dangerous.
  19. I generally use Arron's magic in the roboworms, and green pumpkin with purple and gold flake. But I don't really think color is really that important, the guy I fish with almost every weekend uses purple type colors and catches just as many as I do
  20. I think the snakeheads here are going to love them noisy flappers. My local DSG had the rap shad in stock and on the shelf , I didnt buy any though I'll stick with my visions and pointers.
  21. I did at one time, but when the old owner sold a local POS bought the store. The owner and his cronies poach the local woods for deer and over harvest blue crabs that he sells out of his store. He's been called on more then once but our lovely DNR here in MD just can't seem to get proof. Which is crazy because I see him dropping his boys off quite often during hunting season, the only thing is they're hunting county property that's posted. I know the skinny because my next door neighbor is really good friends with him and he has loose lips.
  22. The first step is admitting there's a problem, second step is doing something about it. J/K Mike's jigs are some of the best out there IMHO.
  23. It is kinda crazy, but I seriously doubt that a bass is going to say that crawfish is swimming backwards I better not try and eat it.
