  1. I just recently bought a 7'7" GSX Micro guide rod for my Abu Garcia Revo SX. I have had it for about three weeks and it's not a bad rod as far as i can tell. It's a really sensitive rod and has a decent feel to it. Cons: doesn't have a cork handle, it's also to long for me I think. I was hoping to get some more input if anyone has some it would be great. Thanks
  2. I was standing over top a small seawall just casting out into the river with my spinning ultra light one day after work. Had a too big spinner bait on it but didn't care. Well anyway i'm just casting along not a care in the world. I go to throw again but this time either I forgot to open the bail or I knocked it close while casting the spinner bait slings out about 10 feet stops shoots back around my neck and somehow pulls the rod out of my hand over the seawall. In matter of about half a second I find myself standing there with a spinner bait rapped around my neck and a rod in the water. There were a couple different people fishing there at the time too. Not my proudest moment. Then I found five dollars.
  3. Went to 7/11 on the way home from work and bought a can of cope southern blend and two monsters.
  4. Thanks man! I'm glad i got the new setup coming now. Hopefully I don't snap the Carrot stick because i'm pretty rough on my rods.
  5. I fish on a small lake that gets Devastated with milfoil! I find the best way to pull fish from it is throwing a weedless jig with skirt and trailer. My technique is too start running it through the milfoil till it starts to get hung then let it drop and then you can start again usually when it drops it'll pull through clear at that section till it starts to get hung up again further in. Try that. It worked wonders for me last year. Good Luck!!!!
  6. Well this won't be much of a contribution to your question but I have the cheapest minn kota with 30 lbs thrust for my john boat. LOLZ
  7. I was reading something a few days ago about how fishing with what works for you is usually what you fish with. By that I mean you just have been so successful with a few tactics and tackle that you usually fish most of the time with it. If you get the same amount of time on a different tackle you probably will be more productive with it. Just a thought. For me personally I can win all day with soft plastics, creature bait type stuff, and weedless jigs with a trailer all day. That's what I mainly fish with so i'm getting pretty good with it.
  8. One piece rods all the way. the only rod I own that is more than one peice is my nasty cat rod that i got from walmart for $25. I'll never own a rod for bass fishing that is more than one piece. I've seen to many people cast away the top half of their rod. I don't know anything about the telescoping crankin' stick but go with the one piece.
  9. I carry a Glock 23 Love it. I have small hands and it just feels right for me. I would recommend checking out the Springfield XDS .45 like slonzp said. I have had a chance to handle one a few times because my best friend has one. He carries it everyday and he says that he loves it. It's small but packs a punch. It's decently accurate too. The slide is pretty heavy to compensate for the bigger round so you can get a good "double tap" grouping. It's a single stack 5+1. I generally go for side arms that feel right for me in my hand. I've been checking out the Walther pps 9mm which is a slim single stack. I don't know if i can get used to the Mag release on the trigger guard though...... Good Luck!!!!
  10. Fellow bass anglers, Good day!! I have a Quantum Burst bait casting combo that I bought last year from Gander Mountain. So far I really like the combo. It has an IM8 Rod and the reel is outfitted (pretty sure) with a 6-4:1 gear ratio. It's my first experience with with a bait caster. It's seems like it's decent quality for $70.00. I was wondering if anyone else has this combo and can give me an idea how it stacks up against other combos in the same price range also what the think of it? I additionally have a Abu Garcia Revo SX married up with a carrot stix micro guide on the way. What do you guys think? Thanks!!
  11. @Delfi_Boyz Thanks man. I'm going to give it a go this week and try to land my first snakehead!!!

  14. I feel like someone with a "not so good sense of humor" thought it would be funny to toss a few of them in water voilà, now they are up there. Not a fact but just a thought. Still have yet to catch one. I can't wait till i get my first one on my line.
