  1. Sticker strips could be for adding to the bare spool so braid doesn't slip? I'm just speculating because I've never owned one.
  2. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/7/71/913843/hennepin-hopper-lakes-reopen-fishing-tuesday Pretty interesting. Is anyone planning to head down to Hennepin and Hopper lakes?
  3. PhilVB, I've only fished a few of these deep clear lakes and what has worked for me has been very long casts and natural slow presentations (flukes, senkos) and drop shotting. Are you fishing from shore or a boat?
  4. Siebert outdoors, rage tail, biospawn, mega strike
  5. I have the ascend fishing pfd from basspro. Left Pocket: Buff, sungloves, pliers, scissors and line pick and cellphone. Right Pocket: keys and camera Clipped to lash clip: Rescue knife and whistle.
  6. Could be a combination of things. Overfilling the spool, wind knots, reeling to flip the bail. I rarely use my spinning reels anymore but one thing I try to remember to do is make sure there is some tension on the line before reeling.
  7. Nice fish!
  8. I haven't had the chance to take a look at the newer crucials (green with cork handles) but my 7'2 MHXF worm and jig crucial is my favorite rod. Very versatile.
  9. *edit: misread the jig used. I'd use the chunks and just put them on the hook, no threading. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/134464-rigging-strike-king-bitsy-flip/
  10. My ride 135 is almost as long as my crv, I use the bow and stern lines in addition to cam buckle straps for my own piece of mind. I have a Honda CRV and the bar span is only 28 or 30 inches, I also use the Malone saddle up pro, so I know the kayak doesn't move laterally. One of my worst fears is having the kayak fly off and injure someone else. I do as many checks as I can, but sometimes we miss things early in the morning or after a long day of fishing.
  11. Look into hood loops, they attach to bolts under the hood.
  12. Been throwing cranks on my chronarch 201e5 and have been very happy with it. I also have a ci4+ and it throws light baits very well but the spool is kind of shallow, I use it for jigs and Texas rigs. I think the chronarch 201e5 (lefty) is the better crank bait reel. I've also been impressed with Lewis bb1pro for light baits and lots of line
  13. BassProshops Pro Qualifier - The Bait Monkey Gateway Reel.
  14. Nice feesh! I still remember my first big fish. It was awesome, hands shaking and this big bulgy eye bass staring back at me. All thanks to bass resource.
  15. I think the bed extender will work. I have seen many people transport their kayak this way. I would try to make something that would fit the form of your kayak's hull to sit properly on the bed extender. I use cam buckle straps to tie down the kayak, you could use ratchet straps but you risk deforming the kayak if it is too tight.
  16. Good ol' zoom trick worm. I think the roboworms float too, but I usually use them for drop shotting.
  17. Bachelors in Computer Science currently a systems engineer. I make all of your fancy computer equipment work together.
  18. Thanks Derekbass02. No bass season yet in WI, but panfish season is open! Crappie all day long! Ah I miss fishing for crappie.
  19. Best of both worlds. Swim jig!
  20. Little bit older, but my Shimano Scorpion 1001 4x4 SVS can cast some pretty light lures. In fact there is one in the flea market right now (1000 for righty).
  21. @buzzed bait How many jigs can you fit in that spinnerbait box? Do they come up and fall out of their slots if you tip the box?
  22. I think that one is blue craw.
  23. Sorry for the terrible pic, took this a year ago cleaning up my tackle boxes. The majority are seibert jigs, I think a few on the bottom left row are strike kings. I'm a big fan of dredge series (football and brush heads). Been throwing 3/8oz and giving 1/2oz a try from the kayak. I switch between baby rage craws and net bait paca chunks for a bigger profile for a trailer.
  24. I had a bad case of cabin fever and wanted to get out anyway. I had thoughts that maybe it was too early since ice out had just happened, but now I know better...
