If an angler plans to fish off shore just using topo maps it's extremely hard. Before I got my sonar charts for my boat I did just that used only topo maps. Trying to find a solid offshore spot on the map was easy.... But getting my boat on that spot on the water was a different story!! It was almost impossible to know if you were on the hump or whatever Forsure!!
In Greg Hackneys recent blog for bass he tales about the forgotten worm. He said that a trick he works a lot to show the fish a different look is nose hooking a power worm. My question is what rod is best for this, I was thinking a drop shot rod (ML spinning rod). Or should I go heavier? Or any other tips for thus technique
I would go with Rapala DT 10 or 14 they are the best! If your looking to save money Bomber us really good as well and if you get hung up your only out 2-3 bucks vs 8-16 on those others
I was throwing a swim jig on a creek bank and casted to some pads one nailed it. I thought it was small till it headed towards the stems..... Once I got it free it flew up in the air cause I had my rod tip up in the air to get it out if the pads.... It came out in open water and jumped at spit the hook. It was a biggin that runs through my head now at night. This was this Wensday in a tourney..... It all worked out though I did end up winning
I am wondering when you guys throw which technique. Are there certain conditions , times of year, times of day. Certain cover/vegitation.
I feel like they are different enough whete they each have there own time and place. I was just wondering if anybody had opinions on this.
Thanks for the help
I was wondering if I am seeing beds up shallow with no fish on them at the time is there any thing you guys look for to tell the difference between bluegill and bass beads.
I have seen fish on beds right now but I have seen both bass and bluegill. And I can't seem to fiqure out if I pull up in an area and see beds if they a bass or bluegill.
Would bluegill have more beds in one area? That is my thought in it.
Thanks for the help
No, thank you I also fish around grass a lot so that helps big time!! In fact I fish grass more , I am just getting ready fir out High school state tournament and it is on a lake with lots of rocks
However that being said. I think as far as braid goes there is no better live for the job than Power Pro. It is so sensitive yet has the power yo handle whatever I through at it
I fish them just like everyone else has said (spinnerbait sub. , search bait ect. ) but I also learned the can be highly effective when fished near the surface just like a subsurface lure. Almost like a wake bait
Yeah the final day is the best. I have been to two elite events, they are awesome. Plus thus us BassFest so it is the biggest one of the year.

I don't know I have never had that happen. How old is your line, that might be it. If it is older it could be doing that from being curled up on the spoll
I hold Kobe with all in front if I am fishing slower. But if I fish faster I have all but one in front. I learned from Aaron Martens to keep either all or all but one in front if for feel. He knows the most about spinning gear in my mind
