  1. I see all you guys have a great point, I guess I just hate the word luck period..... in anything..... so I still stand with my no luck involved theory
  2. I would not worry to much if I was you, bas a very quick recovers compared to other fish say like northern..... so you have nothing to worry about
  3. This will be my first year fishing high school bass fishing through the FLW TBF SAF..... a teacher and I just got it started yeaterday, so we will be fishing that in Wisconsin this year. So my goal would be to win that..... and same with the BFL event I will be competing in!!!!!
  4. I would use FISHIDY.COM check that site out it is pretty cool
  5. Monday I talked to Mark Gintert with the SAF about getting my schools bass team off the ground and he asked the temperature up here, I said -25 he replied that in Florida it was 85..... He simply and calmly said not rub it in but that is 100 degree difference
  6. I wish I had 50s, I would even take 10s..... Monday night -32
  7. Yeah I have herd and seen of those trout ponds..... but that is literally a rectangle about 20ft long and 10ft wide that just is swarming with trout. If it was to be realistic it would have to have structure and actually bottom besides a pool limning, if that could be done and have stumps and pads and the whole nine yards..... COUNT ME IN, THE PERFECT ANSWEAR FO WISCONSIN WINTERS
  8. I know it is early, but I pledge that every 5 pounder I catch this upcoming 2014 season I will give $10..... Great to see all these great anglers coming together for such a great cause..... GOD BLESS
  9. I hate the word luck I mean I hate it!!!!! I believe that fishing has absolutely no luck in it once so ever..... I believe we work hard for every bass we catch. So naturally it makes me made when someone says that fishing is no skill it is all luck. I would love to go one on one with them and show the what "luck" or lack there of is there in fishing. Sorry for the ranting but my question is what do you guys think, luck or SKILL
  10. I thought it was $100 to be a marshal?
  11. My bets bet would be check the tournament rules, each tournament could be different
  12. Yeah I have done extensive research. This will be our 9 month in getting it going and it all comes down to tomorrow
  13. Hey guys just wanted to see you guys thoughts..... who do you think will win the Bassmaster Classic, how, and why?
  14. I have not been to Classic but man if I could I know I would go..... I went to the Bassmaster Elite Series Diet Mountain Dew Mississippi River Rumble presented by Power-Pole this year, and actually volunteered back stage, it was AWESOME
  15. By get along I mean that bass would not stop feeding if there are geese and duck in the vicinity
  16. I have caught plenty of bass within very view yards of loons, but that is a funny questions. You would think that they are live in the same environment and relative habitat that they would get along just fine
  17. They put them out there for us do wear..... we are supporting the name brand. A ton of people do that in the tournaments I fish, one guy had a Ranger jersey, and I know for a fact that he did not have a sponsorship from them. I thought it was fine that he wore it, in fact it looked really cool.
  18. I fished 95 days this year..... For Wisconsin and a 17 (16 at the time) I think that is GREAT
  19. I think it is like anything else I have done a view tournaments (2) with my dad but he is nit a bass angler he is a Muskie/Northern guy, so we just did it to be together and have some fun while fishing. But I plan on doing BFL Co-Angler tournaments this year. I believe and have herd that the best way to learn tournament fishing is do them. The best way to start is by doing co-angler. But here is something I do in the summer, like you I fished everyday from 11-9 everyday ( weight lifting took up the early morning) so here is what I would do. I tiered to teach myself new tetchiness by putting only these lures on and making myself for one full week to use nothing but. By the end of the week I was way better and was starting to catch fish. I also did this for techniques that I already knew and was what I thought "good" at. By using nothing but these baits for intense Texas-Rig all week, which I had what I thought been good at before, I was able to learn small details and improve my hook-up ratio which had always been below 25%. I would say now by doing that it is over 55%. I think this we help me with my tournaments that I plan to do. I know this was long but I hope it help let me know what ya think.
  20. Hey I am in the proses of starting a bass team at my high school. I meet tomorrow with the principle to discuss it. I have talked to Mark Ginhert from the TBF who helps organize and get clubs starting in the SAF (Student Angler Foundation). I have done as much research's as I think can be done I wrote up a sheet to follow along during the meeting. I was just wondering has anybody tried to start one of there own or helped with getting one going? If so what did you do that would be helpful to get my high schools off the ground?
  21. There are also reports of BASS Pro anglers burning 4800-5800 in one tournament day..... a pitcher in base ball who weighs 183 burns 900 calories in 2 hours, I am not a base ball guy but I belive that is about what the pros pitch in an outing
  22. I hate it when people try and say it is not a sport. I am surrounded by these people everyday at school. They think all we do is go out in a boat and "sit" and "watch a bobber"..... Maybe that is not a sport but these type of people have no clue to as what we do out in a boat BASS FISHING. Bass fishing is like no other, it takes years to learn the ins and outs and even then big name pro like Edwin Evers say the reason they like the sport is because you can never master it. He also states that he is still learning today. So let them talk, let them claim they know what Bass Fishing is..... they could not tell you what a Texas-Rig or a Carolina-Rig, a crank bait a bug bait or whatever. They have no clue what these things are. This is a sport and we are athletes, and do not let anyone tell you different, use it as motivation for you fishing career.
  23. My best bet would be to go for a reaction bite. How close to the boat does she follow?
  24. At the start of this summer I could only dream of mastering crank baits and Jigs. Throughout the summer I asked on you guys for help, and forced myself to use nothing else for a week each and fish 5 hours a day. I was so made at some points but I forced myself to learn and I did not master them by any means. I am working at it and getting better and better so thank you very much. Crank Baits are now my favorite technique!!!!! THANKS
  25. My favorite structure spot, actually never produces big fish but what it is, is a island point that comes out and has a sand bottom that leads to the main Lake channel which is all muck. The spot that does produce for me is a spot that is a sandy rocky bottom. It is a "peninsula". On the south side it is extremely shallow and is stumpy muck and did I mention shallow. The north side is deep and mucky but the whole Lack is so it does not matter there. The west side or the point is the same as the North. This is very easy to target the structure in the peninsula and around the North and west sides.
