  1. We drove by that the other day on our way back from Florida, it looked really fun to fish..... let us know how it goes
  2. I herd this reading something, and was just wondering if anyone has done this or could tell me if this is right or wrong..... So where there is a break in the current say a bay or a cove, will bass sit on the edges of these and wait for bait fish to drift by in the current, then ambush em'?
  3. I think that I will do that this year, looks pretty cool, it is like a year long tournament
  4. As Shaw Grigsby says fishing is the most humbling sport there is..... one day you can be on top, then the next you are skunked The first time I ever caught my 5 fish limit in one day I was so pumped felt invisible, then went back the next day to the same areas and applied the same techniques and pattern..... 1 bite in the Moring the nothing all day, till I changed the pattern then only 4 so 5 after the best day in my fishing life..... That is why we fish, we fish to try and master it but no matter how great we become, we will not ever solve the bass fishing puzzle..... there are missing pieces nobody has and none ever will..... that is why we love this sport stay positive put faith in God and you will get em'
  5. That is cool bud, I am in the Proses of setting up our schools Facebook
  6. The pond may not be good for spawning, you said there is little structure maybe put some in there. The worm idea is really good too to see what is in there. Bait wise drag a Carolina Rig I the middle
  7. I probably should get off this site and do homework so I do not become ineligible to fish our state tournament, hahahah my grades are not that bad, but it is distracting
  8. Bass Pro Shops might have them, I though I saw them there the other day, might have been worms but just check it our or Google it
  9. As far as what to do, you said you caught em' in the shallows try the same techniques unless it was surface bait, in the same structure they were on in the shallows, just in the offshore regions
  10. Maybe the bait fish moved, and the bass followed?
  11. Shaw Grigsby says that on windy days of 20mph plus, hit the shoreline and use a spinner bait..... as soon as you cast put the tip of the rod in or very near to the water to keep the line from bowing in the wind..... I just read this last night cannot wait to try it myself, let me know how it works Also clear pond, I would go with a more naturally dark spinner bait
  12. If I am on roll and loose/run out I will try and find something similar, it may not work as well but it usually does the trick.....now when I am on a roll and want to change up, I never do in a tournament unless I think I will get bigger fish after I have my limit, but when just out fishing I like to challenge myself or try and see if something else will catch more or bigger ones
  13. On a day with a stubborn bite I always just go to my strong points, a crank bait for me..... and if even that does not work, then I will go with a loud bait, or the bait that is know in that type of weather/conditions
  14. Today as bass anglers is a very important day, it is the one day that is set aside to preserve the Earth, but what I think people forget is that if we only preserve the Earth on one day there will be no nature, no life, no Earth..... So as bass anglers I ask us to stand up and make everyday Earth's day God gave us this Earth, lets give more than we take out and make Him proud by showing our conservation on bass
  15. I would in a tournament but that is simply just because the bass will be in my live well for the tournament, out just fishing, I would not do that to a bass
  16. Do not force anything, is something I just read in a book that really helped me understand patterns
  17. So I see that I should almost just let the bass tell me what.....
  18. Yeah we are in pools 7,8,9..... so we should look for warmer water and find new weed growth
  19. I would say it is about 7-8 maybe low nines
  20. I get back to the house dock the boat, and check over my gear, bring it inside and Thank the Lord whether I had a Great day or a bad day I then look at what I did right and wrong so that I can improve

  22. Our 2014 Wisconsin SAF High School Bass State Tournament was moved from Winneconne to La Crosse Wisconsin, It will be held May 18 on a Sunday after the BFL on Saturday..... I read the rules and asking people like I am doing is fine and does not violate in any way..... So does anyone have any Ideas on what we should do and how we should approach this tournament, we are from La Crosse so you can use logo language (certain spot names) if need be..... I would greatly appreciate any help
  23. What is you guys first step in trying to pattern bass, is there a certain technique you go with (search bait) and or a type of structure? I know this is kind of broad but I am really in need of help, thanks for the help
  24. Same with me when I switch to bass last year it is overwhelming..... but here is what I did take it one week at a time, pick a technique, a lure, or a bait and fish that and ONLY that all week Take what you learned right it down, and then move on to the next Pay attention to every little detail, the feel of the bait, the way bass react to it Ask your self why did you not catch something here, but you did over there..... And then if you have question research and watch videos, but what really helped me was this form you can ask specific questions, for example on the week I spent with a jig it turned into a week and a half because I did not catch anything in the week, so I had to keep working, this site helped me with so much it is not funny Go get them and stay positive, God Bless
  25. I know exactly how you feel..... on the lake where I live, it is full of northern, and everyone up there just fishes to fish they enjoy just being outside and enjoy the excitement of anything (and they will take anything on the end of the line). That used to be me until last year when I fell in love with bass fishing and bass fishing only. Everyone up there does not get me when I say I am only going for bass. My grandpa and dad think that I am crazy for not using a leader, not a braid or mono, or floro leader here, we are talking about a 9-12 inch wire leader..... but I am not bashing them they install the love of fishing in me and when they come back with their catch or come back with a picture, it is massive compared to my bass..... my dad caught a 48" Muskie, that he fought for 15 plus minutes, so I see what you mean..... But at the end of the day we are all one in our obsession of fishing.....
