  1. PM me and then I could give you my number to talk to me I started the one at our school
  2. Congrats but yeah the UW-system had 4 teams in the top five 2 from UWSP and one from UWP..... Did you move on too then next round?
  3. Have you ever read his book, it was the best book that I have ever read.....
  4. My favorite bass angler is Edwin Evers, I follow his career highlights like an NFL team
  5. Bass are naturaly just aggressive so even if you do up your lure sixe it will only decrease the chances of a little one hitting..... that said I would try to use maybe a 10" worm instead of a smaller one like you said you use. I for sure would carry jigs with me all the time, read the article in Bassmaster this mouth, that Cliff Pace wrote on the versatility for jigs
  6. Quality over quantity as long as it was five, so I could say I caught a good limit..... 5 8s.....40lb I will take that limit everyday
  7. This past weekend the bite was tough, extremely tough after a cold front. I tried a search bait (Spinner) and could not get bite, so then I tried a swim jig and nothing there as well..... but the I went with a Senko and my dad was doing the trolling motor and was moving to fast to fish the Senko slowly so I started swimming it with a twitching action slowly jerking it and got bite and caught a descent bass. Has anyone ever swam a Senko before
  8. Congratulations bud, it will be on the back burner for awhile, then you will want to top what you just did with that bass and that is what makes this an addiction..... beating your PB over and over
  9. I love that felling
  10. Went bank fishing Tuesday for the first time ever in a pond, I hated it..... it made me so mad how I could not get to certain structure that I see..... I wonder starting from fishing in a boat ruined the shore for me. Do not get me wrong the fishing part was still fun but it just upset me that I could not get out and fish some of the structure
  11. This is so true, most fisherman are so nice.....you can start a conversation with any of them and it will go on and on Pople will even talk to someone like me who is only 17, they offer tips and try and help me all they can.....it is so inspiring
  12. The closer the lines are together the steeper the drop, try and find an area that has a big depth change and really close lines..... and you will hammer them
  13. Thank you for all you do..... none of use would be fishing if it were not for what you do, God bless
  14. Help pay for gas
  15. I am 17, so I know how you feel. My first two tournaments were awful..... on lakes I had no clue. This year I just relaxed and believed that I would catch fish..... Here is what I would do..... Try and find areas that are my main strength and I will go from there (a tournament is not nay time to try something new) start with a reaction bait something that you can cover ground with, then once you find fish slow down and work these areas slower focus in on the key difference where your fish come from compared to where you are not getting bit. This will lead you do a pattern. My results from fishing lake/rivers I have never seen 2014 Wisconsin SAF High School State Champion 3rd place in club tourney last night
  16. I understand what you mean when you say you want to learn new techniques..... I do the same, I know I will struggle to catch fish when I do this but here is what I do Pick a technique/lure Start in a area that you know holds fish. Do not use another technique/lure for a set period of time (I usually do a week fishing at least 5 hours each day) What this allows me to do is hone in on my skills, see how the bait feels. How the bait feels on a rock, stump, sand, shells, mud..... etc.. This is what I do and it has helped me greatly more than you will ever know Big thing is to just believe in yourself and have confidence above all put faith in God
  17. That is really motivational, thanks bud
  18. Thank you for the advice, I plan on studying a something in the lines of fisheries biology
  19. Thanks for all help
  20. So it sounds like I should use the same techniques I use to target stumps on shore, just apply a deeper presentation.....
  21. Navionics Web App is a really great site for topo maps
  22. I am talking with a few colleges about fishing, Dallas Baptist and Campbellsville. They are a ways away from where I live but, I think that making teh move to these colleges would greatly help my fishing ability and help make me a better angler (leading to a professional career) I hope people do not think that I believe this will be all easy, as I know it will be extremely hard
  23. Sorry for all the offshore questions, I am just trying to learn as much as I can and wanted to break the questions up..... So I normal fish stumps on the shore but when that bit goes dead, should I move offshore to an area that our lake has that is a massive stump field in about 6-10 feet of water. How should I fish this offshore stump field.
  24. I do not have a fish locator so what should I do to find areas to fish offshore, I have found some help with Navionics Web App but is there any thing else I should do?
  25. Makes me think of my young bass fishing life..... I always say that the day comes that I do not have the joy when I catch a bass that I did when I caught my first bass then this is not for me..... I KNOW THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN.
