  1. Not sure you can get the 6 1/2 ft bed on a newer crew cab. May have changed for 2014, since they got rid of the regular excab, but from 07-13 you only can get the short box crew cab, unless you get a 2500 My 2011 crew cab is fine though. It does what it needs too.
  2. I use a 2500 fj on most outings. Very nice reel, and I have no complaints about quality. Only time will tell
  3. I have M power rods in spinning and casting from the same company and the lure and line ratings are different so he is just saying a MH spinning rod may have the same rating as a M casting rod. Again I'll comment that the M or MH refers to the power of the rod, not the action in MOST cases. FInd one that feels good to you, I have at least one spinning rod that is grossly under rated so it comes down to preference and feel as well
  4. Good deal. Probably just spent to much on senkos in one order lol
  5. Again good luck, don't get too caught up in counting the days, it's just one more thing to disappoint you. don't buy smokes, pay at the pump and stay outside of the gas station.
  6. When I say classify yourself a non smoker, cold turkey is what I mean. As dumb as it sounds I started in the middle of the winter each time I started back up. Be it boredom or holiday stress, ie. 15 hr shiftd at work and everything to go with it. With the old lady not smoking you have all your motivation right there, she may not like your edginess the first three months or so, but in the end you will both be happier. Brush your teeth a little more, the cleaner my mouth is the less I want one. Let us know your progress, I'm about a month into this time without one
  7. Put yourself in the non smoker category, mentally tell yourself it's been longer than it has and tell yourself you don't want one. Distance yourself from other smokers the first month or two until you can't stand them and you don't even want anything to do with smoking. Try not to substitute if you can, do not use food! You will gain more weight and it will make you want to smoke, but it won't help the weight come off. I've taken a break from smoking more than once, but I'm pushing for this to be the last time. Good luck
  8. Have no problem with 1/2 oz jigs and lures with my 50. I have a 200 as well, but the 50 is a little more comfortable, and casts the 1/4 stuff a little better. You can't go wrong either way, but I'd opt for the 50 first if you don't need a 7.1
  9. I throw the 4 inch senko on a medium ***, with a chronarch 50e on 10lb flouro. It works for me, I prefer it with a 1/4 oz weight t rigged, but have thrown them wacky without much issue. I prefer the 5 inch for wacky rigs myself as well
  10. fairly new here myself. from Omaha as well. Welcome
  11. I think we had the same idea. I love my 50's, but have no complaints on the 200e7. The only downside is one gear ratio with the 50 20130801_223712 by bigkidsone, on Flickr 20130801_223733 by bigkidsone, on Flickr
  12. Nice fish. Sucks about the coffee
  13. Or they make Velcro lure covers that you can just wrap around the rod. Fairly inexpensive and do their job
  14. If a ball joint goes you can. They hold the control arms together. I would replace those for sure. If tout can rock the tire back and forth I would do it right away. Always get a second opinion
  15. Congrats, nice fish
  16. One of the lakes we fish gets the boat dock covered in goose poop every morning. Makes launching the boat interesting trying to keep the **** off your shoes
  17. On the subject of the Lews carbon handles, you can get them directly from Lews for $50
  18. Keep your head up, **** happens and when it rains it pours. Just think at least you can still walk and get up in the morning
  19. If they can dry out that's better, but at the same time in high humidity it could cause rust. A sealed box and dry hooks is about all you can really do. I don't use wd-40 and practice the best fish handling I can as well. Once the coating is gone they will rust again when they get wet. Maybe someone else here will know of a good safe protective material
  20. Fine sandpaper or steel wool can remove some rust. Keep them dry in the box or dip them in a bit of wd-40 before you put them away. You can clean them before you use them if you're concerned about fish health
  21. I don't think that it will increase your odds, but maybe they keep them out to practice culling, or final bag weight... Maybe just making sure his fish will survive in the live well. I've also heard of people putting the male in the live well when they are on beds to coax mama to come out and play. Never tried it. Releasing fish in one area and hoping they stay is very unlikely. Just my opinion
  22. the $50 is if you break it. If it is due to defect then they will replace it. I know that they want people to be honest, if I have to pay $50 to replace after shipping to them though its not really worth it especially with tackle warehouse sales and such, ending up around $80 for a new one. If they will send a prepaid label it would not be bad though. Glad to hear they took care of you. That is the same experience that I had, except it was easier to send back to tackle warehouse as they paid for shipping. I honestly wish my local cabala's would stock them... The last one I ordered through them took 3 weeks to get here, tackle warehouse was $3 more and I had one the next day
  23. overall most of the deals don't look that good, so it doesn't look like a total scam. Give them a call, they use a secure server, not that it really means anything. Can you pay with PayPal? That would give you some added protection. I have never used them, but hopefully someone has used them before and gives you a good review. Hope you end up with a good deal
  24. I broke my 7'1 medium fast the exact same way, just about 3 guides down. I had out maybe two or three times. It was on a 4#. I had landed many in that same size on my 6"10 medium and no issues. Maybe they had a bad batch in the 7'1 size. Tackle warehouse has been great so far sending me a prepaid return label. Hopefully I'll get mine back soon to start fishing again. *** did recommend if I had an issue like that within a retailers return period to take it back. I broke my 6'10 as well, but that was my own stupidity pulling a 5+lber out and putting weird pressure on the rod tip. Got a replacement no problems since and have put it through its paces
  25. Either one is a good reel. I prefer my chronarch 50e over my 200, but that's just a profile difference. My lews tournament speed spool casts a mile and is super controllable with the dual brake system. I have three omens and am very happy with them Either way I don't think you can lose. Speaking of a 75% discount, you should message me some details if that's not a typo lol
