  1. Well it's plain to see.....that smallmouth was adopted by gobies.
  2. Edit....change the Walker to a Ishs Phat Frog.
  3. Worm - 4" Kietech Live Impact Creature Bait - SK DB Craw (with tungsten punch jigs) Jerk Bait - Not really a jerk bait but use it like one...Heddon Swimming Image Spinner Bait - Yellow Hammer Spinnerbait Rig (yep it's an umbrella rig but it has spinners) Crankbait - KVD 1.5 Lipless Crank - Livingston Popper - River2Sea Whopper Plopper Jr. Walker - Rapala Skitter Walker.
  4. Big worm......um I have 1 bag of 7" worms. Think I've fished them once, just not the most productive bait where I fish normally. But you could probably use them and just fish them really slow. I mean people us big jigs, why not a big worm.
  5. Have one at home. It doesn't get used as much as it used to though. Still a good rod.
  6. you could get a regular binder and some freezer gallon bags. Or seperate you worms by technique and put them in gallon bags that way. Then when you need a dropshot worm, grab the dropshot bag and find your worm or what ever you're looking for.
  7. A worm wallet or two.
  8. Since it's the first of the month, everyone must of hit it up at lunch time.
  9. A lot depends on what size heads and baits you're going to throw as well as which A-rig. I mainly use the Flashmob Jr, Eco Tungsten's Roll Tide Rig, and Yellow Hammer's Spinner Bait Rig with 1/8oz heads and 3-4 inch swing impacts. Go up to a 3/16 at most so I guess mine would be a lighter A-rig. But you just have to manage the baits and head size to the rod you're wanting to use. If you're going big, then yes, you're going to need a bigger set up to handle it.
  10. Have to agree with Raul. From the bank you carry what works. From a boat, even more is needed due to that reason, more options and water thus lead to more tackle, more techniques, and more efficient ways to catch fish. BTW, love inline spinners....sometimes it's hard to beat a Roostertail.
  11. Looked at the model specs and you can safely carry 4 passengers with a max person cap of 600lb, in a Z-7, the Z-6 is max 3 persons. You could do it but you're overloading the boat and if there is an accident YOU will be held liable. I look at it from a Captain's position where the vessel I operate can only carry 74 passengers.....could it hold more yes. But the stability of the vessel is the main reason for this listing. Odd are you put 4 200lb persons on one side of the boat you are going to list dangerously and may cause you to take on water. Will you sink, probably not, could it result in a unsafe boat if you get caught in some bad weather? Yes it could. Is this risk really worth the extra person? Not to me, I'd rather tell a friend sorry maybe next tme then risk everyones safety to not hurt someones feelings......but then again this comes from someone who deals with vessel and passenger safety and strictly regulated by the Coast Guard.
  12. I fish a 20lb P-Line CXX mono leader with 30lb braid on mine with a 7'6"MH BPS Crankin rod and a 5:4 Carbonlite reel. But used a 7'6"MH Bionic Blade before that with a 6:4 Extreme and did okay. Dropped to a lower gear ratio as it was easier to crank on all day and went to a softer rod to prevent pulling hooks.
  13. Yeah, got me beat by a long shot. I stick with colors and baits I know will produce for me, just keep extra of each so I have a back up for my back up. Sucks when you have a hot bait and loose it or can't get another one right away.
  14. I'd probably throw it on a 7'6"MH older BPS Bionic rod or would look into getting one of their graphite series IM6 7'6"H rods. The IM6 is a bit softer then IM8 but still has the power needed with the larger bait.
  15. Very under rated rods but very nice rods at a really good price.
  16. Depending on how often you fish, line that's 2 months old has gotten a lot of use. When I fished everyday working on sportfishing boats, it wasn't uncommon to replace line every few days from wear. Since switching to all braid on everything, you would be supprised how long each filler spool of FC or mono lasts when you only use about 10ft everytime you change out your topshot. And as long as it's kept in a cool dark place the fillers stay in great condition. Found when I tried fishing straight FC, any over run or kink in the line would result in weak spots which became really brittle.
  17. Happened to purchase a par of Quantum Kenetics for $50 a piece. Can't beat a mark down of over 50% off.
  18. I downsize, take the tackle I think I may need along with the rod selection out of my trunk.....if I figure out that I need something else, I go back and swap it out and carry what I need with me, but everything else I might need is just a short walk away......Think I need a tackle center that fits in the trunk of my car though.
  19. you forgot the mini fridge.
  20. I'd invest in a thermometer to take the temp of the pond, and probably fish in the afternoon. If it was me, maybe a dropshot, Ika, a big jig slowly worked with a pork trailer. or a 6" swimbait like the rof 12 huddleston and slowly work it. Sometimes bigger baits get bit better in cool water. More bang for the buck in terms of effort.
  21. That's what we are all wanting to know
  22. Well Friday spent $200 on cranks and jigs since I had a gift card. Sunday, Siebert jig order of about $50, and then another $250 on some other tackle that I may need for upcoming events....well all of it was for upcoming events. Now I just need to order the bag to carry what I need and a bag to carry everything that I may need as well.
  23. All the talk about pulling hooks with braid.....If you set the drag right you won't pull the hook nor snap the rod. And have to remember when using straight braid you don't need to swing for the fences. A quick pop and done. If I swing too hard on my set-ups the drag slips as it should giving you the shock relief from the near zero stretch. You shoud be fine. Do your thing and fish your style.
  24. I don't know, that "Bad Pig" Skitter Pop looks pretty good.....lol Aside from that I have baits that have Bill Dances name on them.....they still get bit...but then again it's Bill Dance.
  25. Some guys are just more efficient with some baits then others. #1, he is confident in his bladed jig....#2, you seem to have taken yourself out of the game mentally by letting his success get in your head. Once you loose focus it's over.
