  1. Yeah, all those people that doubted Carolina and how great Seattle was, not looking good for them Seahawks. Besides we all know cats love eat birds and it looks like the Panthers are going to eat up them Seahawks. Maybe the new cleats they changed will help......but I doubt it.
  2. What range are you looking for? M action, MH? For what type of fishing? Most cranking lines have a moderate action, Falcon makes 2 Bucoo's that are moderate, a 7'M and a 7'6"M. The 7'6" is $110 though and the other is $99.
  3. Use lower quality bearings and package them as something else or label them as Boca Bearings when they really aren't but charge you that premium price.
  4. If you would have asked if I would have recomended that reel in the Quantum line I would have told you no. It was a gimick reel with a KVD logo on it. Revo's braking system is probably easier to dial in then a Quantum's as well.
  5. Not the same reel, if it's a Team KVD, it's not the same reel......and being it was your FIRST baitcaster, user error, well lack of experience would be more then user error knowing how to cast a baitcasting reel. Have friends that can't cast my reels, not the reels fault since they work perfect for me. Again, this reel here is junk. That's like saying the Accurist is a Smoke or the Smoke being a TourMG. Now to customer service with Diawa is exellent, I've had to take reels into their headquarters which are basically down the street. Nice people. As for Quantum's customer service, have yet to need it. Basic reel maint on my part (consists of oiling the bearings, grease where needed and wiping down the reel) keeps them in exellent shape. No squeaks, no grinding feelings, no backlash issues (and if it does happen I don't blame the reel since I'm the one using it and it's probably my fault). Now unfortunately if people have had issues wth the Newer Black and White version, I don't have that reel as I have the older grey gun metal colored ones and posted a link to the reel I'd recomend over the Accurist which is a nicer reel but in the price the OP was looking for. But the two reels mentioned in the above quotes aren't the reel the OP was asking about.
  6. Well first thing I see is muddy water? Like A-Jay said (beat me to it) no water temp mentioned? If the outside air was 54 I'm guessing it was a cold rain....cold muddy water not much fun. Jig with a rattle in black and blue or any other color that is black and blue fished tight to cover. Cast, sip coffee, shake, sip coffee, wait, shake again, sip coffee. Wait. Move slightly and repeat. I'd stay out of any shade areas, fish sunny spots in the afternoon (let things warm up) and enjoy the outdoors.
  7. And I'm over everyone bringing up the air pressure issue in the football from that Indy Game. It happened in the first half, they got blown out in the second half. It was a closer game in the fist half too. Maybe they should complain and make NE play with deflated footballs since they didn't score as many points with those balls. Either way, the game between KC and NE will determine the AFC championship. There isn't a hotter team in the AFC then the Chiefs, but NE looks to be getting back most of their missing players and will they haven't had consistantly since Week 10.
  8. I have 4 of that style made by Road Runner (Rockin runner). They work pretty well, but their head design is a bit different then that one. Been using them for last 3 years and looks different then anything anyone else around here throws when it comes to chatterbait style jigs.
  9. I won't hold you going for them against you. If they do get past New England, then I would bet on them to go all the way and win. I see Carolina or Arizona on the NFC side.
  10. I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. The two Accurists I have that are the older model have had zero issues and would take either of those over a Tatula or a PQ any day. The Accurist is probably the lowest Quantum I would recomend to anyone and I would stay in the "PT" line of reels Quantum offers only. These reels have stayed smooth and consistant. If you want to move up a reel, look into the Kinetics, you can find them on Ebay for around $75 (maroon color) in the blister packs . But there's no way I'd buy a Tatuala over either of those two Quantum reels. I'd go with this reel linked below. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Quantum-PT-Kinectic-8BB-6-3-1-Bait-Casting-Reel-KT100SPTA-/321634142583?hash=item4ae2e38977:g:zQkAAOSw6aVUqclg
  11. I can give you a review about the older silver one, not the newer white and black model if that helps.
  12. I'm going to agree with DVT, go with a fast action rod if you're flipping and froging. Punching I would say Mod/Fast or Mod only to help keep the fish pinned in the weeds and help absorb some of the short line fight. Froging you want to move those fish quickly and a rod that shuts down a bit quicker such as a fast action will work best. Some even like extra fast, but I personally prefer fast action for what you're looking to do.
  13. You want to know why she hates you again, because you were happy and moving on. She saw that you were moving on and letting go.....she didn't like that. Go be happy, let her be and be who you are. Don't respond if she wants to argue, walk away and let it be......go fishing, enjoy life, let her realize SHE LOST YOU by her actions. My ex left me because of my job, shoot the ex-wife and 3 ex girlfrieds have all left me because of what I do for a living. Their loss, not mine. I'm who I am and I can't be anyone else. Be who you are and be yourself. Let her be mad and hate you, there's nothing you can do about it, she needs to grow up and realize she left, and you are still the same person you were, just not with her. Now go fishing and post some pics of what you're catching like you used to.
  14. I started mine off with spinning tackle, let him learn to cast while fishing and new he would grow into it as I did when I was young instead of buying him a underspin or spincast. It took him a few days to get the hang of it but he was determined and casting plugs were cheap and he enjoyed learning to use it. Now after 4 years of fishing spinning gear I'm working on getting him interested in casting gear and giving him my older equipment to use. He likes knowing that he has the same kind of gear his dad does and feels like he's fishing just like dad.
  15. Anywhere from I'd say 1 to 10 acres of water. Most of my fishing from shore is done in the LA/OC area which is about 100mi south of where you are. Look up the CA Fish and Game planting schedule for Ventura County and if there are public waters they stock it will show you on the map......anywhere they stock trout, there will be bass and some of them on the large size. https://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FishPlants/Default.aspx?county=Los+Angeles,Orange&time=Present There's a link, just type in Ventura County when it asks for location.
  16. In the LA area and honestly, don't care. Don't want them or the Raiders. They left once, see ya, don't care if you come back. Not going to be a fan nor care about either team. I value teams that stay put and work hard to achieve what they have there......I can understand San Diego moving 100 miles north, not really relocating that far away from the fan base, but when you move a team half way across the country and leave in the mid 90's, then decide to come back and think you're going to get an open arms welcome from someone like myself, it's not going to happen. Now they are going to have to share a stadium with USC at the moment till a new venue is built which they will either share with the Chargers or Raiders depending on who decides, but if it's going to be the Raiders and Rams again, really don't care Both are poorly run, and aren't going anywhere other then when they decide in another 10 years that LA isn't the place they want to be and move again.
  17. You're not going to be that far from Casitas Lake which is probably going to be the closest lake to you. As for small water local ponds and public parks around there, not really sure. But I'm sure some of the other guys located closer to that area will give you some feedback or may have to PM them as small waters are guarded. The small parks I fish are well known, but I don't put them out on the open forums.
  18. Why is eveyone mad at BPS.......if Ranger was doing so great why did they sell? If the bean counters at BPS looked at the profit margin and didn't see the right numbers why wouldn't you want to go in and take care of business to keep the company and the name alive? And if you were one of the three that were going to be looked at and have to explain why the numbers aren't where they need to be then maybe they new that it was time to retire.
  19. Sorry to hear about the loss of your brother and the way it happened. My prayers go out to you and your family.
  20. Hudds, both 68's as well as the 8", then you also have the option of the Savage Gear Line Thru's, Rago's BVD and BVD jr. S-Weaver's 6" Spro BBZ, 7-8" Triple Trouts (floating since they run about $75 a piece and if you loose one at least you can try and retrieve it). Osprey makes some good swimbaits as well. And a few mentioned above. Also have the Bull Shads too. If you're going to be fishing slow, try and go with soft swimbaits, and use the hardbaits for faster presentations and reaction strikes. There's a good list of baits to look into.
  21. You want to used shielded wire I would say no smaller then 14 gauge. And I do believe you can add gps, just have to buy the software (can check Lowrance's website and see to double check) and if you want it faster you can upgrade with the gps Point-1 antenna.
  22. What about the new Iivingston Walking Boss II. That may cover the bases on what he's looking for. Jitterbug lip style with exellent hook hangers.
  23. You shouldn't have any issues, it will pivot though depending on current and wind. But you should stay put. Only have a single Talon on the 20' Champion I have (for the moment until I can afford another one late this year.)
  24. correction, 10-09, Seattle.
  25. Just a thought, but BPS has their Graphite Musky Series (new models for this year) and they have a 7' rod which would probably work better for you fishing out of a kayak....retails at $49.99. I have two of the older models and use them to throw Hudds and Line Thru's on so that may be an option and a little shorter rod as well for your kayak fishing.
