  1. Thanks for sharing. You've got an awful nice boat there. It's just not quite in my price range. Unfortunately, since we just build a house, I have "orders" not to spend more than I get for the sale of my boat.
  2. Thanks A-Jay. And you're right. I want the best of three worlds. Electronics and TMs can be upgraded, but you can't make a boat bigger. I guess I have to decide what is most important not just right now, but in the future as well. Thanks for the input. Thanks for the input. I appreciate it! This would be awesome, but for right now, one boat will have to check the most boxes. Maybe someday the wife will allow a fleet.
  3. I'm sure most of you might respond with, "It's all about your preferences." But I'm really stuck with how to evaluate two boats I am considering. I am downsizing a little to fit a new garage after moving. The lakes/rivers I fish most of the time are idle only or TM only. Other lakes I drive to that are larger (500-1000 acres) are about an hour away so they are fished less often. I also like to take a trip once or twice a year to a "big lake" (past include KY Lake, Guntersville) Both boats, Trackers, are almost the exact same price and have low hours. Boat 1 - 2016 190 tx, Helix 9 at bow and console, MotorGuide x3, Mercury 115 FS Newer boat, nice electronics, 24v TM for better performance on TM lakes, bigger HP Boat 2 - 2014 175 txw, Garmin 73sv at console and bow, Ultrex, Mercury 75 HP Already run 93sv and 73sv on current boat, so very familiar with (and love), LOVE the idea of being able to upgrade from my Maxxum to an Ultrex I guess my dilemma is I love the electronics and TM of Boat 2, but are those features that much better than the bigger boat (better ride, more storage) and bigger motor with adequate electronics and TM? Thoughts?
  4. Thanks for all of the input guys. Weirdest thing. I went out to the lake the very next day and they both were working fine and have been since. I found how I can switch the sonar off on my dash unit, so I can still have my gps up, but it wont interfere with the bow unit if this ever happens again.
  5. I installed my 596c hd di on my new boat and started to see interference. I'm getting a different power cable with the choke to hopefully fix the interference. But somehow working on that unit made everything on that unit and my 688ci "sync up" Today on the lake, neither unit would show more than 3-4 foot of depth. Also, the pixels and images were very blurry and not sharp like usual. they are on different transducers. Could me messing with the settings of my di unit in the front be causing this issue? I have no idea what's going on.
  6. Me and my dad are headed down to Mark Twain the first week of April. He's not a die hard fisherman, but wanted to go on a little trip with me. He will bass fish with me, but that's not necessarily his cup of tea. I just want to see him catch fish. What advice do you have to help catch bass, crappie, etc there this time of year? Thanks.
  7. I have an Alumacraft 2072 with the livewell and 24v trolling motor batteries in the front deck. I plan on installing a Power Bubbles unit for the livewell and I was wondering if I could just run the unit off of a trolling motor battery. The unit doesn't draw much power and the batteries are literally a foot away. Would this be a problem?
  8. I tried to find if anyone else has posted about this, but didnt have any luck. Maybe I'm just bad at searching. Anyway, I have SeaStar hydraulic steering on my 200 Yamaha, and it was very loose. I filled at the helm and bled the line of air and it was nice and tight. I tightened the connections to the cylinder and to the reservoir under the dash. After sitting a week or so, I can swing the motor about 6 inches each way by hand, so clearly there's a problem. Any suggestions?
