  1. I have some time off at the end of the month and am thinking about going down to Table Rock for a couple of days. I've never been down there and am wondering where I should be fishing. I'll be in a kayak so my range is limited. Looks like Branson is probably going to be the best place to stay for a couple nights?
  2. There are a couple spots on Jacomo that you can put a kayak in that are ok, outside of that it's a ramp or a fine. Thinking about heading over to the Gasconade River next week, has anyone fished it before? I've never fished a river before, I have no clue on what to expect.
  3. Heritage has a nice paved sidewalk along the entire dam that you would be able to fish from. I pulled in a 3-4lb fish from the bank the one time I fished out there 4 or so years ago.
  4. Decided to give Jacomo a try today. I've never had much luck there, but Blues post had me hopeful. Caught a decent 2-3lb fish on my first cast after I put in. Next fish was definitely my best of the year and probably pretty close to my PB. Caught almost all of my fish on a shaky head of various flavors. Didn't catch a ton of fish, but the majority of what I caught were pretty decent. Just an awesome day to be out with the lack of wind and it not being 100.
  5. Anyone have any tips for Shawnee Mission Park? I went there a couple times the past couple weeks and it has been absolutely brutal.
  6. Hit Olathe this morning after I got off work. Only caught 3, but one was probably in the 3-4 lb range, so not too bad. The highlight of the day was some eastern European or Russian guy who was fishing from the shore yelling at me as he decided I was too close to his lines.
  7. It was about 58 at the dam today when I pulled off around noon. Only caught a few whites and one smallie. On the plus side, the smallie was my new personal best.
  8. Same. I'm gonna drive down to Lake Texoma after I get off work Monday so I can hit the water for a day. Gotta get out of my apartment.
  9. On the things on sale note, Academy has 200yd spools of Seaguar Invisx for 9.99. The sticker may not show that price in the store, but it does online and rings up at that price.
  10. Congrats! I have a Cuda 12 and love it. The only thing I've done to mine so far is add an anchor trolley. I have a Raymarine Dragonfly on the way from Amazon right now to throw on it before it warms up. They're pretty well sorted from the factory which is one of the things that made me buy mine.
  11. Went out yesterday after my planned trip to Wabaunsee got messed up by a flat tire. The water was super clear. Like dirty lake in Minnesota clear. I'm guessing at least 15 feet of visibility pretty much everywhere on the north side of the lake. I caught a few fish but they were all really, really small and they all came on a white Mepps. Couldn't even get a bite on anything else I tried.
  12. The water was only that clear in the middle of the dam. The cove to north side of the dam was super muddy and had visibility of less than a foot and it seemed to vary from about 2-10 feet everywhere else I was. The largemouth came off the north side where the water was just starting to get muddy.
  13. Stopped by myself today. I like Zoom plastics too and grabbed a few bags. I hit Melvern yesterday. The wind was pretty brutal. I'm guessing around 12-15kts or so. The only thing I had any success with was a shaky head that I was practically swimming back along the dam. Did catch my first spot though. This was my best of the day.
  14. http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_10051_196951_-1__?color=Red&N=670787849+4294956176 That's a rebadged older style Tarpon 120. Probably about the best yak you can buy for the price.
  15. Made it out to Melvern today to try and catch some smallies. Didn't have much luck, a few little guys on a Ned rig and one decent one on a bass flavored Hula Popper. I did have a lot of fish go after the Hula Popper, but only one of them actually hit it well enough to stick. It did rain a little, and after that the wind picked up and I didn't get another bite. Biggest of the day:
