  1. Some people are unbelievable. On another forum some guy posted that his truck was wiped clean at the boat ramp at Whaletail. Sorry to hear about your stuff man. If you can make it through the fall, hit Cabelas and Gander mountain for the winter clearances. As far as fishing goes, just got back from Maxwell Bay tonight, was hoping the bigger pike would be active with the cool down. Was tossing spoons and redeyes with no luck. Found one on a spinnerbait but that was it, maybe 25" or so. Anyone care to share some bays out there? Heard that further south is better with the clearer water, but its big place! Just looking for a good starting point.
  2. Love the posts Punch! I dont throw poppers nearly as much as frogs but I still love them both. And I will second what you say in this video. My fishing has been sparatic lately. Havent had much time and when I do always seems like crummy weather. I did get out on Tonka last week on a rare day off. Started at 545am and had luck on buzzbaits and frogs right away. Bite tapered off around 8am or so for the topwater. After that it was a white spinnerbait that caught me a few more bass and northern. Working it really slow and going right over the top/through the weeds in 8-10ft. Nothing really of size though, still learning that place. I see boats out in the middle of the lake tossing jigs, I just dont have the patience (or electronics) to feel comfortable doing it. I stick to 15' or less 95% of the time. Was only my second time out and Ive hit Maxwell both times. Ive heard southern bays are better, so one of these days ill go further. Did see a guy snap off a muskie at the boat in one of the channels, followed by a string of f-bombs. Actually felt bad for him.
  3. Nice video man, just subscribed to you! I also have an active channel, just started last season. I used to have the link on my profile but the Admins flagged me for some reason. So here is one of my recent videos.
  4. Looking for some people's opinions on what they like for headwear the keep COOL out on the water. They all seem the same to me so just curious as to what others use.
  5. Booyah Popping Pad Crasher. Cant tell you how many fish ive pulled in on these. Lots of durability too, will even last through a few Pike teeth.
  6. That lake is on fire. Not sure where they are but seems like everyone I see are pulling 4-5s out of there. Ive been on the hunt for northern lately doing an online length tourney. Got a nice 31" out in the west metro last week and a few 28s as well. Ive got a few bass here and there, some on a wacky rig and a frog still nothing consistent in that category.
  7. Id be down for a meetup, if theres 4-5 of us we could even meet up on a lake somewhere, bring 2-3 boats and partner up. awesome boat man! I just purchased a Tracker 170, 40hp. Nothing huge but im never racing anyone around the lake. And also its all that would fit in the garage! I see alot of people talking about medicine now, which could be bad for popularity! Im 2 miles from there and have never been out bc my old boat was to small. Plus since ive been fishing small lakes for so long the bigger bodies can be intimidating. But i definitely want to get out and learn it this summer. Also a good place to stumble upon the 35+ northern.
  8. Auburn is a great lake. Love it in the summer tossing frogs in the tall grass. Absolute hogs in there.
  9. I agree, I just got a boat this year that I can actually take out there and I think in going to stick to weekdays only. I'm only 5 min from wayzata bay so it's doable for me. I'm also relatively new to MN so northern are still fun for me, I'm in search of a 35+ and/or 10lber this year so I may look to tonka for that. (My best so far is 32 and 8lbs out of a small west metro lake) Welcome aboard! Thanks for the post, keep checking back in and let us know how you do.
  10. To me the M-Y Wedge/ Yamaha support whatever is essentially the same thing as a transom saver, just instead of the bottom being attached to the trailer is on the jackplate, or am i really missing something here? Mine has a nice thick rubber V that you trim the motor down onto and it rests snug in there.
  11. I saw we have 2 posts going, figured id combine into one and see if we can get some people talking! Dont feel like you have to give up your honeyhole or your go to baits, but it never hurts to let people know whats working and whats not. As far as I go, had a little success last week but this weekend hosed me! Tried Beebe in the west metro Saturday, lots of boats out and I hope they did better than me. I was completely skunked, threw everything I had at them everywhere in the lake and couldnt find them. Ventured out in the wind today on a small west metro lake and only found 2 northern. I mainly threw spinnerbaits in the wind today, I think next week im going to slow it down a bit and throw a texas rig or a jig. Hows everyone else been doing since the opener?
  12. Went out last night for the first time, west metro lake. Water was 62°. Only pulled in 2. Both on a spinner bait in 8-13 feet. Second was a female who just finished spilling her eggs.
  13. Any good metro clubs? I'm located in Plymouth. Just picked up my 16 ft tracker so I'm in the same boat at OP. My 40hp won't live up to the 60k boats, just want something with smaller boats but competitive!
  14. Thanks! I did see some room there but I don't really want to drill holes into the transom. But I'll take a look and see how yours is for sure.
  15. So this is a pretty specific question im hoping I can find someone out there in my situation. I am looking to install an minnkota MK 210D onboard charger (2 bank) but of course, I cant find a spot for it to fit in the battery/gas tank compartment. If anyone has done this and can send me some pictures of it installed that would be awesome!
  16. I was a bit surprised when i read this as well. I used it today and seemed to do well. I just dont want to risk trailering with the motor down and dragging it on a hill.
  17. Thanks guys, the boat came with one and I plan on using it. Just wanted to see what other guys did.
  18. Just picked it up today. 2016 Tracker pro 170. A little upgrade from my Tracker topper 1036!
  19. Just picked up my new tracker 170. Was reading through the manual and noticed that they recommend trailering the motor trimmed in and that the transom rod is not intended to support the motor while traveling. This seems a little off to me. What do you guys do while traveling and storing?
  20. I think you are on the right track with the 170. Picked mine up today and can't wait to get it on the water. It's also a lot more roomy than people think. Can easily fit 2 on the front deck and one in the back (my wife has claimed the back as a spot to lay out when I fish). Room to seat 4 as well. Another thing, if you want the boat in July make sure they have more than one in stock. If they are out ordering from the factory can take a few week to a month.
  21. I am picking up my 170 tomorrow from the dealer. I agree with the second poster. You don't need to upgrade the motor on the 170, if you are going to just get the 175.
  22. Have you taken the 170 out yet? I am looking at the exact same boat currently.
  23. Thanks for the input. I wish you would have posted yesterday! I just went through Tracker financial and I couldnt help but laugh when he read me the offered interest rate. And just for the record I have a good credit score and my debt/income is nothing that would raise a red flag. Just sucks bc now they ran everything so Im going to wait a week or so and head to my local bank. I went to a dealer to look at the Lund. Didnt seem to interested in haggling but I am going to go back and give it another shot. Thanks for the info!
  24. Nice you are just down the street from me! I went and looked at a 2010 Lund the other day and noticed the no swing away tongue as well. It wouldn't even fit in the garage. I just did a check on this and found the add on option. The back deck is a 705$ add on. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. All it is is a piece of plywood and 4 brackets.
  25. This video is what made me look at this model the most. The back deck on this is perfect, its a 2014 so I dont know if they took this out in the new models or if its an add on now but if this was standard this would be a perfect boat.
