  1. Thank you so much for all the advice guys. I really appreciate it and can say I feel better prepared to take on this responsibility of being a boat owner
  2. Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well. So I'll be picking up my first boat in mid June. It's a 2008 Triton 21 hp with a Mercury pro xs 250. My grandfather and Dad have had deep sea boats for most of my life so I'm not completely new to the world and terminology of boating but I was hoping you guys would be able to help give me some of your tips and routines when it comes to owning a boat and how you care for and maintain it? Maybe mention a couple things you wish you knew when you had your first boat. How do you guys care for the trailer? For those of you that run a merc pro xs, what fuels, oils, additives etc. do you use? Any specifics about this engine I should know? so far I've found a few articles from here to help me develop my own routine but any advice would be great. Thanks in advance Kye Abraham
  3. I really recommend you take a look at Cadman's jigs and jig heads here: http://cadmansjigs.weebly.com He is an active member of this forum. His service is excellent. take a look at his arky bass jigs (double collar). They have the Mustard ultra-point 32798BLN hooks which have a wire diameter of 0.043 inches in the 3/0 size which I would consider light wire. He can also make them in the Owner #5304 hook so it will be similar to the yamamoto heads but will probably have a better bait keeper and definitely better price. Hope this helps.
  4. Thanks guys. I really appreciate the help
  5. Hey guys, I understand how to paint jigs and know how to paint them a single color but am curious as how to add multiple colors or a mottled look? I'm aware of the Boss jig armor paint from fishingskirts.com and want to try it. Here are some examples of what I'm looking for I found on google images: Thanks and all help is appreciated.
  6. Has anyone tried using the Zoom fluke stick for drop shooting? If so which size did you use, did you use the salty or regular and how well did it work for you? What would be your favorite way to fish the fluke stick?
