There are ideal knots for certain lines, techniques, and conditions. I always use the ideal knot. This gives me confidence. I could see how getting good at tying one knot would give confidence. The "C" In Catching....is for confidence.
A neat knot goes a long ways towards its strength. Spending hours to perfect a knot is a good plan. Many people DO NOT understand the importance of practicing their knots. Fluorocarbon will let you know if you are tying poor knots. I suggest you try some superglue to prevent slippage associated with poor knot construction. (this does not apply to your case since your knots are perfect)
