  1. Brian, Drew, and I will be fishing the lower end of LOZ April 3rd-5th. We will also be fishing Stockton April 24th-26th. I had the opportunity to book both of these through some family connections, and took it. I think you guys should absolutely consider LOZ for the first weekend of April. You'd be beating the Big Bass Bash by two weeks. I would list all the other reasons why but anybody who's been to LOZ before knows how cool of a lake it is.
  2. I think I'll be going with the original Shooter Defier in 13#. Slightly smaller diameter than the 10# Yo-Zuri Hybrid I'm throwing right now (.300 < .308mm), but based on what I'm hearing their breaking strengths should be close. Talk about paralysis by analysis.
  3. You think 13# would be too heavy for cold water jerkbaits?
  4. See y'all there at 6
  5. Johnnys of 151st? I'm down. Any night other than Monday works.
  6. been out on wolf creek since the gates opened, no sign of getting called off anytime soon.
  7. Let us know how that goes for you
  8. You mean the BR Winter Get-Together?
  9. Awesome! Can you share the link you got this from?
  10. I haven't, but looking forward to your first report!
  11. slob and a half, nice to see proof of the successful release
  12. Guys were still sight fishing on the lower end of LOZ last year in mid May, I caught a few that hadn't done their thing yet around that time. I think that was due in part to last year's heavy winter. The crappie spawn was weird down there too, it never really got going like it had in years past. If this year's Winter stays mild and we dont see much precipitation, I think we could see different Spring fishing than last year.
  13. I've already committed to a few trips in April and the spring get together isn't looking good for me... Unless we do Stockton first weekend in April.
  14. According to TW they still haven't heard from the manufacturer about getting restocked...
  15. No but it would be nice to spool a few reels.
  16. Good to hear, thanks for following up! Sounds like my only complaint will be tiny 165 yd spools
  17. Nice! Looking forward to that report even more than usual A buddy of mine drew some good big bites on an S-Waver out there recently. Not that I expect you to have any problems with that
  18. Thanks Dwight, have fun! Waters around here are pretty hard at the moment, so I'll be anxious to hear about your experience with it.
  19. My never ending search for the perfect line has led me to this candidate. I should mention that I'm looking for a best of both words line for fishing jerkbaits, topwater, small spinnerbaits, squarebills, etc. I've been throwing Yo-Zuri hybrid 10# but am not satisfied with the amount of memory it has. Even after soaking it in line conditioner it's only usable for so long before you feel like you're throwing a slinky. I digress... Has anybody used Sunline's Defier Armilo? From what I hear it should be neutrally buoyant or float, but with less stretch and visibility than mono. Based on my experience with Sunline's other products I'm expecting it to be very manageable with little memory.
  20. I've also heard him called that
  21. Peyton and Horseface got knocked off by the same Colts that knocked off my Chiefs last year. All is well in the AFC.
  22. So is that confirming they just won't be generating, or they also won't be letting anybody out?
  23. All good stuff you're getting from this thread. All I'll add is don't be afraid to scale down, like really scale down. This girl took 3 hours to make up her mind and decided on a 3/32 oz shaky head. That same little shaky head called in some big spots in 8-10 FOW with pea gravel bottom. As the other guys said, let us know how you do! There's nowhere I'd rather be in Spring than on LOZ. You can rip bass all day with a good chance at a 6-8 lb fish, then then fill a limit of keeper black crappie at sundown if the spawn's on. I don't care who you are, that there's fun.
