I'm not sure that's the only difference, the Mojos are also supposed to be technique specific. And St. Croix makes split grip Premiers ^^^.

This is exactly where I plan on throwing these lighter 5/16 & 3/8 oz jigs this Spring. Light cover and chunk rock. I have a feeling 10 lb power pro will get the job done, although I may still invest in a 7' MH rod. Thanks for the feedback.

St. Croix Premier FTW

The Premiers are more balanced than the Mojos. I actually own both, but prefer the Premier over the Mojo. Pro tip: Cabelas is the only place I've found that sells split grip Premiers.

Yeah I'd prefer to have one line capable of handling both. Might just bite the bullet and step it up. Are you thinking a fast action 7' M wont have enough backbone?

I've got an old Sahara 2500 spooled with 10 lb. high vis braid, and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth upgrading to 15 lb. braid for dragging 5/16 & 7/16 oz. finesse jigs this spring. I'll be using a 7' M rod. Thanks and tight lines.

I came into a mess of crappie fillets this weekend from La Cygne. I'm going to be deliberately naive here - what have you guys heard about consuming quantities of fish from coal powered plant lakes, La Cygne in particular? I know a lot of you guys fish this lake quite a bit.

On the opposite end of the size spectrum, I caught a 3.5er last Summer on a white 1/8 oz. roosertail fishing for catfish bait.

I mean it may look like multiple shiners stuffed into a crank, but it's still a single crankbait body moving through the water... it doesn't seem like a fish's lateral line would scream "that's a ball of bait!" And I also bought a scatter rap last year.

I've caught some serious quality fish on Blakemore's Rock'N-Runner, it's one of my favorite lures. It's also the only chatterbait I've seen with a willow blade attached, which I like. A bit hard to find, BPS doesn't carry it but Cabelas does. I've heard a lot about people throwing black/blue chatterbaits, but I've only caught fish on white or white/chartreuse. I'm curious to see how they perform compared to more traditional topwater poppers/chuggers. I'm looking for a 1/2 oz. topwater hardbait and trying to decide if it's worth going with the more complicated Pop Max design, or a more traditional popper like a Rico or Yellow Magic. History's taught me that the fancy lures catch fishermen, and the simple lures catch fish. Wondering if that applies here too.
