  1. So people just need to eat more bass...
  2. I've never fished Wyco, but based on what I've heard (and what I know about the area, even if some might not want to hear it) is it sounds like a fishery that's been irreparably damaged by the bucket fishermen, in more ways than one... I hope I'm wrong, but if I'm the mayor... what potential return on investment am I looking at by taking measures to restore the fishery to what it once was?
  3. For the record I've got my sister's wedding. If I wasn't in it I might be fishing instead
  4. A good copoly (yo-zuri hybrid) seems like a more natural transition from braid to me. You'll at least maintain comparable sensitivity. I just switched my spinning reels from 10# powerpro to yo-zuri hybrid because I was tired of tying fluoro leaders. I'm really impressed with the sensitivity and strength of the yo-zuri, but was really disappointed by the memory in the 10#. Great on a baitcaster, horrible on spinning. Will be throwing some light texas rigs with the 6# on a 3000 Sahara this weekend and will report back.
  5. Wish I woulda found this post sooner Clayton! Tried 10# last night on a spinning reel for about 30 minutes and completely gave up lol. Had another baitcaster spooled with the same 10# and it behaved much better with good sensitivity. I've got a smaller spinning reel spooled with 6# that I plan on throwing the ned with this Fall, I'm expecting better results.
  6. Shhhhh...
  7. I've been loving these freaking things lately. Tremendous success flipping, bouncing, and dragging it t-rigged through grass. It's been outperforming baby brush hogs when fished side by side with the same great hookup ratio. How many of you guys have been throwing super hogs with the same success? I'm curious to hear when and where it's produced for you, and just as importantly, when and where it hasn't produced.
  8. Interesting fact about Cabela's, they're the only place you can get split grip St. Croix Premiers. My favorite rod for the money.
  9. Hate to say it but just found out I won't be able to make it Thursday night either.
  10. Trying to find the dislike this button...
  11. Lone Star was a bloodbath Made a living in the slot, that's for sure. I'll take four of these and a kicker any Thursday!
  12. Are we talking about the same pic?
  13. I think Lone Star sounds like a great idea, and it's certainly one of the best smaller lakes on the KS side within an hour of KC. I haven't fished it this year but it sounds like it's been fishing well this year. We'll go from the EAST ramp at 6. I'll run through this again at the ramp but we're going to switch to paper just like the get togethers. They must be a minimum of 12" to measure and we'll go to 5 biggest. I'll have a verification code of sorts that will be assigned to each boat that MUST be in a picture with your fish that are on your card, preferably while they're on the scale and the scale must be a digital scale. I've considered the length/weight conversion charts but the problem I have with that is I'm sure we've all caught very fat fish that weighed more than a fish that was a couple inches longer. If that's something everyone is interested in we could do it, just want to point that out.
  14. Did the weekly Thursday get-together happen last night? How'd it go? Wish I could have made it if but didn't have the time or $ unfortunately (as sad as that sounds )
  15. A friend's wedding on the fourth, me and Tracy's one year wedding anniversary the next day... gonna venture a "no" in the interest of self-preservation
  16. A buddy/coworker of mine fishes it every year, he says it's a blast. That lake is always a good time outside of fishing as well, never a shortage of things to do. On a side note is that drum at the bottom of the flyer??? Nice to see them not taking themselves to seriously lol
  17. I was there last week and he had mentioned doing something special for the BR KC guys. I think it's a great idea, he seems interested in getting us what we want at a price that we can afford! Count me (and Ondrejka ) in.
  18. At least the bag weighed 0.75 lbs hah ...Bluebasser86 blew me and Ondrejka out of first by a whole half pound
  19. Man, Melvern was tough for us today. Real tough. That lake always has a learning curve for me because I simply don't fish it a lot. My very first trip I was so spoiled, but the last two times I've been out have been rough. I also took conorsixtakc both times...funny how that works... 40° water in February, 82° water in August... we just like a challenge :-)
  20. Yes! Welcome Brian! Couldn't be happier to see my good buddy and future Clinton walleye guide posting on BR. You'll learn a lot from this super nice group of guys just like I have, as you slowly drift to the dark side plus now we really have no excuse to not get in on the Fall get together at Perry
