  1. I'd expect it to keep getting better until it gets real cold. Still waiting for this Fall jerkbait bite I always hear about...
  2. Hah I wouldn't be on here or even know the ways of the Rodney Rattler if it weren't for that man!
  3. My PB avatar fish came on a spook shallow a few weeks back here in KS. It's on in these parts.
  4. I'd stay away from that KC Area Guys thread, they don't catch much
  5. I can't be the only one still waiting to see a photo of this 9.8...
  6. I'd fish it if I were you. April's my favorite month to fish LOZ. Most of the big boats are still winterized and on the lower end there's a good chance you'll be able to sight fish a toad. See attached.
  7. Sounds like you ran the main channel, how far from the Gravois did you run?
  8. Wish I could make it out tomorrow with you fellas, I hate missing any chance to fish Melvern this time of year. Somebody catch a brown toad for me! *cough Brian cough*
  9. My avatar fish came on topwater, I was in the back seat, and I've got a place to stay at 7mm... sounds like you need a new partner
  10. Water's been very clear this year on the lower end, we've got a place in the family at 7mm and it had 8' visibilty this Spring. Just something to prepare for. I know there will be guys down there that fish a buzzbait all day and nothing else. I don't think I'd have the resilience to stick with one bait like that all day fishing for one bite!
  11. What's your gameplan? (I'm not fishing it)
  12. I'm expecting big things! Good luck brother!
  13. Take plenty of pictures!!!
  14. I've seen the same thing happen out there a few times when the wind dies down, and like you I haven't been able to pull anything out of it. There's definitely alot of forage in that lake due to the grass.
  15. It was painful to float it without being able to wet a line, the lady and I got dragged into one of those big party floats and it killed me inside to not be fishing... last time I make that mistake. I've been meaning to get back ever since. We floated it late July, which is what happens when a girl plans a float trip without understanding water levels . The water was super low and we had to drag quite a bit, but I spoke with some locals and they said they were hammering quality smallmouths from 18-20" on watermelon red horny toads. They were busting all around us.
  16. easily the best thing i've seen today.
  17. I've only partied on the Elk, but I've meant to take a smallmouth trip. Would you recommend the stretch of river you floated, or would you have done anything differently?
  18. Excellent work Brian... lure everybody out to Lone Star so we can slip out to Melvern and have the lake to ourselves...
  19. Conor had a toad come off and I'm sure he's still sick about it. Not at all. It would've only been a new PB.
  20. I was just about to ask... one would think that bite can't be far off with this cold weather!
  21. There's some lunkers in the tank at Bass Pro in Olathe. Shawnee Mission Park has produced from shore for me in the past (3# lm, 9# wiper) but it took lots of trips.
  22. Bailing on things seems to be a theme for me lately. Got sucked into moving my brother-in-law and his family into their new home tonight. Doubtful I'll be able to make it to Mondo but I'll try.
