  1. In September of 2012 I bought a 1997 Nitro Savage 884 Dual Console with 2000 Mercury 150hp EFI. Motor had new Tempest prop. The boat had brand new carpet, 32 gallon livewell with oxygenator, new minnkota maxxum 70lb thrust trolling motor with spare prop, Hummingbird 586c depth finder. I paid 7,000 cash. It was worth every penny. Blue booked for around 9,000. Have not had to upgrade yet. Looking to put lowrance HDS 8 and 5 on though.
  2. If KVD thought it was going to be bad, that's all Trip needed to know to call it for the day!
  3. I am glad someone from the area who has first hand knowledge agrees with me. I thought it was weak, but people not remotely close to here understand. Oh well. We will see what tommorrow brings.
  4. Alright ITS OFFICIAL: Just got off the phone with Don King and the Alton Jones vs. Dean Rojas LightWeight bout is set for July 4th weekend...lol.
  5. Already read about the carps. Thought it was funny. But as far as baseball goes. Ruiz is right. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.
  6. OK guys conditions are pretty rough right now. I'll admit I was wrong on this one but still not sure about the Falcon call. Oh well, man up and admitting I was not right again!
  7. I honestly think that this last statement has nothing to do with what I was saying. Let me rephrase how I meant this topic to sounds. I believe that they should have started the day and called it when the weather got SEVERE. Not when the wind was blowing 30 MPH. There was no lightning in the area and that fishing conditions were FISHABLE at the time the tournament was postponed. I would rather see a shortened day with fish being caught with the conditions given. Sorry Hooah that you think I am ignorant. That is a name that I have seldom been called. I never believed that I was more manly than others. I am a big baseball fan as well so let me say that blocking home plate is part of the game, just ask Buster Posey. He never once accused any wrong doing when his leg was horrificly broken. IT IS WHAT IT IS. And who said anything about fighting. Although KVD on IKE's deck going at it would be entertaining LOL. Or Alton and Dean... Just kidding (dont ban me).
  8. Im not really concerned about hurting a moderators feelings, I'm sure that would just alter my life not being able to post here. I'm sure that they agree with and respect "every decision" made :/ . Anyways guess I will stop posting before I get in trouble. Yall have a good one. Sorry I got everyones panties in a wad. Not exactly how I figured everyone would respond!
  9. Hey roadwarrior, I follow them very closely. I don't understand how you come to that conclussion from my post. Maybe you need to stick to moderating and not posting. This is a bass talking website, not fishing. J Francho, And I am not fishing because I am on call for work. Would love to be out there right now .
  10. I live in the area, so I know what the storms look like. Fishable as of right now!
  11. Several of the Pros were very disappointed, and yeah I have fished in some bad conditions including lightning, not my favorite but it is what it is. I just like what Clunn said about this kind of thing at Falcon. That they would have never postponed events for reasons they do now back then. And I am a new generation fisherman (26 years old). Old school fishing was definately more challenging and showed who the overall best fisherman was. Now its just who can catch em when the fishing is at its best. Most BASS tournaments are scheduled on the best lakes at the best times of the year.
  12. I saw that BASS has postponed day one due to weather conditions today. I am just wondering if BASS has gone a little soft in letting tournaments be dictated by conditions. I understand that bad weather has risks, but shouldn't these tournaments tell us who is the best fisherman in all conditions? Not just blue bird sky days. Fishing in storms is just part of it in my opinion. Just would like to know what everybody thinks. If it was me personally, I would rather fish day one before a front, not after. Conditions will definately be tough tommorrow.
  13. I decided one day, after reading an article that KVD can cast up to 70 yards to go across the street to the local HS football field and give it a shot. I tied on a strike king 6XD to try and replicate his cast. I was using a Skeet Reese 7' cranking rod and Quantum Energy PT 5.1:1 gear ratio reel with 12 pound fluoro. After casting I laid the rod down and walked to my lure. With no wind blowing on this day my furthest cast measured 51 yards. The average I figured was about 42 yards. I then picked up my Quantum tour edition 7.1:1 on a Abu Garcia Veritas 7' with 20 pound fluoro and put on a 1/2 ounce jig. The furthest cast with this was 38 yards and the average was about 32. So I know exactly where I stand. Spinnerbaits I know won't go nearly as far.

  15. At that water temp you could probably leave most baits at the house. A jig, suspending jerkbait, and rattle trap are all you need. The fish will be fairly lethargic at that temp. I would start by throwing a search bait like the rattle trap or jerkbait, and once I found fish, I would start crawling a big jig around looking for a big bite. Bass will also be schooled up at this time so when you find one make sure you work the area over thoroughly. Good luck. God bless.
