  1. If the rod isn't as moderate as most cranking sticks you could probably get away with using it for Carolina rigs, deep football jigs, heavy spinnerbaits, 10xds, swimbaits and a rigs
  2. Lews custom speed stick spinnerbait model can be had for $105 on eBay....doubles great for plastics...light, balanced and sensitive as all get out.
  3. That's what I always did. Guess I never really noticed.
  4. Man that's tough lol 1. 7'3-7'6 heavy fast with 7.1-8.1 2. 7-7.3 mH moderate with 5.1 for all purpose cranking 3. 7-7'3 mh extra fast with 7.1-8.1 4. 7 medium fast spinning 5. A second 7-7'3 mh but fast action with 6.2-6.8 retrieve.
  5. Got two...most comfortable handle around.
  6. I thought the curado pricing was merely a temporary "sale" put through by shimano. I didn't expect it to stay at that price. Citica will be $149.99 and Curado will go back to $179.99. Maybe an aluminum version of the chronarch at the $230 price point coming? I don't see them discontinuing the curado I one year after its release. Something else is going on here
  7. From what I held, I would agree that the ghost is also a good option. It definitely has a softer action which I honestly prefer as I tend to use braid
  8. I own the topwater Rod but 5/8 would probably be too large for it however the spinnerbait model is rated for heavier topwaters
  9. Lews custom speed stick...will pair perfectly with that reel
  10. Also, why bring out a chronarch g when you have the ci4 out
  11. Their topwater Rod is also rated and listed for jerkbaits. Their spinnerbait Rod is for bigger jerkbaits. Great rods
  12. Well the curado is back up to $179.99 so maybe this is why
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if they are, the new customs are amazing.
  14. Leave it to fedex to screw me again.....supposed to pick it up at the facility today...oops, turns out it wasn't shipped to the distribution center and even though the center is open, the place that was supposed to send it to the center isn't open until Tuesday. FedEx, I continue to hate you
  15. I got this Rod two weeks ago. Be ready, it is about as powerful as you can get. Beastly
  16. Problem was the wrong word. My fault, I meant more along the lines of tendency...in no way are these negative comments. I love my shakey head rod and all reviews I have read are positive
  17. Thatta boy! Guess I got lucky lol
  18. Several models are already sold out
  19. Well I did say that I own a spinning shakeup head version and it runs soft compared to others I've owned. So in my opinion, they run soft on the spinning side. No different than the opposite problem like Abu Garcia rods. Those rods generally run stiffer and heavier than others. Does that mean people don't catch fish with them? Of course not But the power and action should be taken into account so the buyer isn't surprised.
  20. Not trying to start a fight. Merely trying to present as much information as possible
  21. I don't think people are saying that you have to use braid or that they don't work, merely that they were designed with braid in mind. I don't think it's nonsense to repeat what passed on to consumers when the rods were released. I'm sure they catch fish fine with regular line however the action may not be what some imagine or prefer for their purported techniques.
  22. Man I wish this had kicked in 2 weeks ago when I got the 7'3 check... 7'2 finesse jig, hello
