  1. It says subject to change. Their stock says they have them so they probably came early. If they weren't in stock it would have a letter symbol...
  2. In looking right now and it says they have 3+ Of the 7'6 tp-1 heavy in stock....
  3. I've got 5 of the custom speed sticks and they are amazing. I was also looking into their new lines. I say get one and do a review for us!!
  4. I think they use whatever works but in most cases try to use their sponsor gear....some off the top of my head examples are.. I remember seeing bobby lane have a st croix ltb spinning rod mixed in with his veritas rods on the St. Lawrence in 2013...maybe the action was perfect for what he needed and wasn't offered by abu. Before being sponsored by daiwa, Brent ehler used an nrx drop shot Rod when sponsored by lucky craft rods...also used a daiwa steez flipping stick. Lucky craft didn't offer those types of rods.. In a podcast I listen to, Brandon palanuik said he used a discounted fenwick for his win on the st. Lawrence. Not Abu, but under the pure fishing family. Again, I assume the action is perfect for what he is doing.. Gary Klein and Tommy Biffle and dean Rojas have all used discontinued quantum rods on major league fishing. If they can have customs done at any time, why keep these old specific rods? I assume merely again, they loved those rods for their intended purpose and kept them... I feel most guys do use their sponsors stuff because they do have a want and obligation based on said sponsorship. These guys can out fish most of us with an ugly stick and most 100 dollar rods are more than adequate. I think they simply find specific sticks they like and have some of those for when they are on the water. Most of us have preferred brands but may have other company's rods because they may have a specific niche.
  5. I believe that they released new additional versions at this years icast...I know Brent Ehler requested an 8ft glass rod specifically for deep divers. It may be the zillion line however...
  6. I feel like the lite is the "updated" bb1 pro. Same finish, lighter and same braking. The lite is a sweet reel and I was lucky enough to get a steal on a display one
  7. That hook keeper is awesome...so many times I find I hook lures to the top the reel as opposed to the rod...
  8. True...but the team pro is ALL aluminum in frame and side plates which none of the new version are...adds it's light weight and power and you have reel which is kinda rare nowadays
  9. The custom speed sticks are the real deal. Unfortunately I have no need of the new rods as I loaded up on the customs as I love them and have 3 of the old hm85 when they went on clearance. The new hm85 and tp have the same models (spinnerbait, magnum etc) that the customs have had since last year. As for reels, They keep updating which I like... Great company
  10. Can't wait to read the review! Lew's fan right here
  11. That is awesome. I wonder if any others will follow suit
  12. I think most are... Lews has several models which only have 95mm handles and the models that don't have a 95mm on their cranking version. The tatula and zillion have longer handles than original as well.
  13. When I first got into fishing, I would spend entire seasons trying to master something. My second season of fishing was to use only baitcasters for anything. It would have helped if I had owned anything "good" lol. It took a whole season of constant use with a variety of lines and lures to get it down. Now, I feel comfortable with almost anything.
  14. Ha! And that's down from 40....a guy with no boat no less...yea, I got a problem
  15. I wonder how this will effect the tws zillion sales as I can't see many original zillion owners carrying over to the new platform. I expect this to be a huge hit which is why they kept the original platform intact
  16. Both shimano and lews have come out with a composite frame at this price point and seemingly in direct opposition to their current lines... Interesting to say the least
  17. If you have several combos with near the same line it can be confusing. I am OCD so I can tell you every line on all 18 of my combos. If you have a boat full of 30 combos I can see this being something good. The quantum smoke rods have this option as well.
  18. It actually seems like a stolen idea from the ardent edge series. There is a dial with different numbers so you can label what lb test line you have on...
  19. I will add the Lew's custom speed stick 7'3 mag heavy pitching stick. It isn't their designated frog Rod but it is light, balanced, powerful and one heck of a frog Rod both in open water and heavy cover...
  20. The 3m power resin pure fishing bought is making its stateside debut it seems.... The Abu regista rods have it but are jdm
  21. Went I went to california, I was lucky enough to have Matt Allen as a guide for a full day on clear lake and he was awesome.. I can say unequivocal that everything you see on his videos is how he fishes and fished. All the tips and techniques which we covered on my trip are in this videos ESPECIALLY the swimbait tips. All his stuff is braid with leaders even cranking (which he does with high speed reels lol). He may be a self promoter, but he does have his guide business so I understand and I feel he has earned as it as he works his tail off to know the areas like he does.
