  1. He was using both if I remember when warning the vids. STEEZ with his Livingston and Tatula with the Rapala
  2. It was actually a gift from hoojaroo. a 6'6ml-mf spinning blank extended to a 7ft baitcasting Rod. Perrrrrrfect for jerkbaits and topwaters because the handle is nice and short. Crazy light too. Now what to do with my champ 684cb? Sell it maybe? Hmmmmmmm
  3. 702 would be my choice. I actually use my 742 for weightless senkos which doesn't require a finesse reel

  5. Alas I am in the lexa camp merely because I couldn't take how the tatula palmed.
  6. Champion 734 Chronarch D7 40lb braid
  7. Tec spec elite on clearance for 35 (normally 100) and a Pflueger president. 96 total
  8. In he past, DAIWA rods have been known to be underrated in terms of power. My m zillion has the power of a mh and my mh is basically a h. I try to take that into account when browsing their stuff. Good to see a review of these rods though. The Lexa seems to have been the seguay to the tatula and kinda got lost in the shuffle.
  9. So is it purple or green lol
  10. 40 inches is craaaaaaaaaaaaszy fast. I wonder what kind of torque you can get with that type of speed. Are we all gonna be cranking with 7.3 "slow" reels in the future lol.
  11. I was just gonna put my champ 684cb up for sale if you are interested lol. Great jerkbait Rod for those lures, small cranks and poppers as well
  12. I got too many that I use. If I had to take one and one only, it would be my DX742 and Chronarch d with a shallow avail spool and 10lb sniper. That's unweighted plastics of course. Weighted would be a whole different setup
  13. Rainshadow custom Rod 6 TW reel covers Plano 3700 satchel Gore-tec gloves The problem with getting me stuff is I usually get it myself beforehand because I am so impatient lol
  14. I've decided on 50 for all but the thickest stuff out there and even then, 65 is probably unecessary. I have 65 rigged on my heaviest Rod for punching and will double it as a frog Rod but rarely. 50 lets you cast so much farther and I find this usually outweighs the benefits of heavier line as I like long casts when using frogs.
  15. 734 baby. It's why I have two of them. Your only issue may be from weightless flukes accurately as it won't load the Rod fully. Other than that you should be gravy
  16. I assume the manufacturers are merely covering themselves by warning against saltwater use. Magnesium reels usually come with an expensive price tag so it would be even more imperative that the disclaimers are laid out. Dropping several hundred on a reel only to have it begin to corrode would certainly cause a backlash from the anglers. Those who know the risks and use it for said purpose are merely accepting the risks of which they have been informed. Regarding the punishment they can take, i wouldn't know as I baby my higher end stuff and have veater gear for shore walking and reservoirs etc just so I don't break my own heart lol
  17. So you're saying there's a chance? I follow you
  18. I have several rods that can throw them. Unweighted 3 and 4 inch, it's a Chronarch d7 with shallow avail spool, 10lb sniper and dx 742 casting rod. 5 inch senkos can be thrown on any normal gear so I don't have a huge preference as I have several rods that work fine. Line choice depends on cover.
  19. Man you lucked out...that reel is amazing
  20. You got the gold zillion huh? Not Gonna lie, I have several reels on display that will never see the water lol
  21. Well I feel lame lol..mine are my TD itos from 2003
  22. There is a thread on another site which has new pictures of tatula grooving. I actually think it is from particles in the water where some people fish. The grit acts on the t wing and grooves it in very rare cases
  23. Ditto, 2 is usually all you need
