All 3 on Dobyns Champion 734 with Chronarch D7 and 17lb Fluoro
It's a heavy powered Rod with a fast taper originally built for big spooks but soooooo much more than that. My favorite all purpose rod.
The line can change depending on where I'm fishing.
I am intrigued for sure and do like the color scheme.
Those siting the Curado g to I comparison neglect to mention that the curado I came with a $20 increase as opposed to these rods being prices $50 below the GL2.
Time will tell
Shimano was the original producer of Lews reels waaaay back before they went off on their own.
It's funny because BPS won't carry Lew's products and now a Daiwa Rep at BPS is spreading incorrect info about them as well.
Their products have gone downhill so far that they building a bigger home base to accommodate the growing demand of their reels lol
As bad as it sounds, people actually didn't like them because they were made in America. More expensive, less smooth and less refined than others. Since going to China, their product seems to have improved dramatically. I would actually use the apex line(China made and cheaper) as opposed to the elite line (us made).
Ahhhh I see. I thought you meant graphite ala the laser mg or Shimano Caenan. Those frames can and do flex.
This is merely W&M's version of daiwa's Zaion, Shimano's CI4 etc which lightweight and strong.
These pro carbons aren't graphite if I recall. These new ones are super lightweight with higher drag and a carbon fiber handle. I'm actually kinda intrigued by them and their new rods with the double trigger (for flipping etc)
Dx 746 baby! If not that, I always liked the 736. I prefer too much power as opposed to too little. I can pull dinks out in open water with either but when it's crazy heavy cover, the extra power helps
Hey guys, I took a teaching job (finally, after 3 years if looking) in Washington NC in 3 weeks notice. Leaving all family and friends back in NY and will be living in Greenville NC as of Feb. 3rd.
Was just wondering if there was anyone in this area who could name some of the local places someone can shore fish from or is willing to meet up. I'm looking to lay down some roots in the area and have already contacted the Pitt county bassmasters.
Thanks guys!
Walking baits get 30lb braid and poppers get mono. With walking baits, I want more snap and the lack of stretch lets me really bomb them and get a good hookup at long distance. Also, they tend to have bigger hooks than the poppers I use so I'm not as worried about losing them.
Poppers seem to do better for me with some forgiving line ala suffix siege.
Too many lol. If had to choose one, it would be my dx 745, chronarch d7 and 22lb sunline shooter. That line is darn near unbreakable.
IF we are talking heavy heavy heavy cover, dx 746, lews super duty 8.0:1 and 65lb braid.
Truth be told I'll pitch with any mh and up I own depending on what and where I am.
I also liked the first iteration of the first generation if that makes sense lol. The one review by TT was a great reel for me. First they switched the knobs from a zillion style to abu style knobs. Then when it dropped to $79 it lost little things like the grip on the thumbar. Then the outside changed from a smooth gloss to a kinda of tactile grip with more muted colors.
If it is akin to the original $99 model, then it should be pretty solid.
I wouldn't mind ardent succeeding but man what does it say that them moving to China was an improvement when their entire premise was USA. When they went OEM, they actually improved
I've owned almost all of them and I haven't had a bad experience. Overall, the tournament pro is a great all round but I loooove the super duty. It just feels beastly
