  1. Going to be up in God's country the second week of September. Can anyone recommend a good smallmouth guide? I'll be from Green Bay to Washington Island. GO PACKERS
  2. I figured MCpinkie would have paired up with ya since he fished alone.
  3. Do the bass relate to "sticky grass". I am unfamiliar with it.
  4. Is there much coontail this year?
  5. What did ya catch them on pinkie? Might get a day pass and try Jacomo out.
  6. I have seen this scenario play out. Brett Chapman fished a buddy tourney on a 350 acre lake against the locals. He had his wrapped boat and all his high tech gear. He did not make the check line.
  7. Yes. Tourney angling will help you hone your skills and make you prepare/study much better due to being competitive. However, the biggest single thing that made me a better angler was buying my own boat and spending more time on the water. The key is being able to find fish. When you are in charge of your own boat and need to find fish yourself, you become a much better angler. Spending time fishing with good fisherman will aso teach you an awful lot about how to catch a bass. I was a recreational fisherman that normally fished to put fillets in the freezer. I started really learning how to bass fish in the late 80's by going with one of my buddies that was into it. I didn't even own a baitcaster in those days, but that quickly changed. We fished our first tourney in about 1995 and are still fishing tourneys today (20+ per year). I am on the water 4-5 days per week and sometimes more from February through the end of October. Then I turn to hunting. Time on the water, fishing with knowledgeable anglers, and reading every I can, has made me a better bass fisherman.
  8. Do you fish with Minister Joe?
  9. Do you fish those tourneys basstracker?
  10. What has been going on in the Wednesday tourneys?
  11. I would not buy a used boat that I did not test drive and have a boat mechanic go through.
  12. Carolina Rigged lizards on Secondary pea gravel. Jigs, spinnerbaits and flukes. We split what you win.
  13. Sounds like your jig bite finally happened. Not sure what the point of a 3 boat tournament is.
  14. I may do that. If he isn't the one to beat who is? Are there any more Sundays?
  15. I may come out for a Monday tourney. How long before I can catch them on a 10 inch worm? Does BM Burt fish MOndays?
  16. WOW. Is that Tim "Bass Master" Burt the same one that was in the KC Star a week or so ago? He must be a professional stick schoolin ya'll like that. So the jerk bite is over?
  17. Serious sticks can catch bass on any lake in the state. You probably got a bunch of locals that can catch a few on the home lake they are intimately familiar with, but can't catch them elsewhere. You a stick or a local?
  18. So the serious sticks fish on Wednesday and the rest on Mondays?
  19. So the Monday tourneys are more of a rookie league? Do you fish Monday's? Maybe I'd be better off tryng a Monday tourney until I get to know the lake a bit.
  20. I have often thought about fishing a tourney at Jacomo. Probably just be a donation on my part with all you professionals out there. What is an A-rig? If jerkin wins why don't you jerk?
  21. Sounds like Jacomo may be a decent lake to fish. Do rapalas work?
  22. With the muddy water in both lakes do you think a jig is the bait of choice?
