  1. Facebook and Twitter are tools to add to your profile. A lot of older anglers do not understand generation cycles or demographics. So there is nothing wrong with Social Media. The bigger question is what is your Marketing Plan with Social Media? I do not see your Facebook group The Boys Of Fall. Potential Sponsors should be able to find that group very quickly. I spend 5 minutes and I gave up. Don't waste your sponsors time. Throw a link in there so they can get there quickly. Why did you put your co anglers name down? is this a joint Sponsorship? Never refer yourself as a kid. It downgrades you. Your Resume needs some work but its not bad. Learn some skills in Marketing yourself better. Good Luck!
  2. Thank you. Your positive response is motivation for me to write more.
  3. This is a good blog on self worth. I have been looking into writing about self worth and the connection it has with sponsorship too. Keep me posted and I will keep you posted
  4. How is the Crappie fishing on Lake Fork, TX? What do they relate to as far as structure and cover? What do they forage on? Thanks
  5. Fishing Education (The study of fish and there habitats) should always come before sponsorship. And self education should always come first. Wouldn't it be a awesome feeling to pay your own entry fees from your tournament winnings? (i spend $1500 in entry fees, $600 in hotels, $400 in gas out of my own pocket and you possibily will be giving me $50,000 depending on how smart and hard i work). Wouldn't it be a great feeling to say no to sponsors you have no interest in? Wouldn't it be a great feeling to get free rods and reels from a company that makes quality products that you like? (i can't feel my jig on the reservoir bottom basin but i would gladly wear your company rod logo on my chest. no way!) Wouldn't it a great feeling to get a check from your sponsors that you seeked out rather than they seeking you out because you placed well? i rather build up my skills and try to get into x,y,z company(a company i admire) thank you for the offer but.... This kid might have 8 sponsors which is great but the really question in sponsorship is. Are these the companies i really want to be with? If they are not don't milk them get busy on trying to get to your ultimate sponsors. At the beginning i understand getting your foot into the door. I totally understand supporting your family. I totally understand that fuel is expensive. The trick to sponsorship is not to sell out for entry fees but to get yourself into companies you admire.
  6. I totally agree with u on the foundation. i really don't have alot of info from ike and VanDam most of my library comes from books by Al Linder, Bill Dance, Bill Murphy, and Fishery Biologist. Reading Fish Survey reports and understanding the "why" has helped me alot. Going threw all the magazines from the 70's to now. The 70's has some good info, the 80's it gets better but the 90's has the best info and the 2000's is full of sell, sell, sell and repeated info. The on the water experience is the fun part and i have seen great results so far here in the eastern PA. thanks
  7. Do u catch anything good at Beltzville?
  8. I am looking for some different methods on rigging a 16 inch Delong worm/snake. I like to use it swimming in the mid layer of the water column, bottom dragging and suspended slightly off the bottom. Fire away.
  9. Lake Fork, Lake of the Ozarks, Guntersville and Lake Douglas i live in eastern PA. thanks
  10. Hi everyone, my name is Kevin I been fishing for 4 years now. I have around 1200 fishing magazines 200 DVDs, 50 VHS and 300 plus fishing books that I been studying for the past three years. I have over 700 handwritten pages of journals (cover, structure, biology, seasons, weather, etc). I study one lake a month and one fishing topic a month. Every Bassmaster, Bassin, FLW and In Fisherman article/tournament I have filed. It took me three months to do. And it is well worth it. I keep all the journals in my gun cabinet. My goals are big maybe to big to mention. But I believe a well designed strategy, belief and activity will produce results. I have signed up for my first four tournament in September and October. My months and weeks are all planned out and the daily discipline is there. If any one is looking to sell there old maps or books please let me know. Thanks
  11. I really should get a Resume out there. I have over 700 pages of fishing (structure, cover, weather, biology, seasons, etc) handwritten in journals since March of 2012. I have a very large collection of Business and Personal Development Journals that i been writing in since 2009 Build your skills and then present yourself to your favorite companies when you think the time is right. The point of this thread is that you need to build your skills up in Business, Personal and Fishing before you present yourself to your sponsor. I really should get my Resume out there but i have some skills to learn before i present myself. This not my resume
  12. i think i will be ordering some Airrus Nano Fusion rods for my jigs and carolina rigs tonight. i have a G.Loomis NRX rod for my jigs. It is a great sensitive rod but i am always looking for something more sensitive. Thank you for the info
  13. Anybody try the Airrus Nano Fusion rod? is the sensitivity like the G.Loomis NRX?
