  1. I've had a good experience with bending branches angler scout and ace models
  2. Spinning: 7 mf avid, 3000 stradic fj, 10lb pp slick Casting: 7 mf avid, curado I, 20lb suffix 832 Pretty much covers it all for the inshore and bass fishing I do.
  3. My vote is for alberto. Strong, easy to tie after some practice.
  4. I've had a positive experience with products from shimano, st croix, and ***. All in the $100-$200 price and I'd recommend them to anyone. If TW has 15% off the *** black I'd say that might be the rod to get.
  5. Anyone use the 7'2" mm for squarebills/cranks? I've been wanting a crankbait rod for a while now and keep going back and forth with the premier, avid, mojo.
  6. I like lefty's loop with 3/5 turns
  7. My trident 13 has a transducer ready scupper so I mounted it there. Garmin wouldn't swap the transom mount my unit came with, so I just used silicon to keep it in place. A better idea I've come across is using a piece of plastic w 2 holes drilled in it, while running a zip tie down the scupper, through the transducer, back up and tightning it in place.
  8. Hey man welcome to the forum. I too kayak fish almost exclusively (except rare occasions when I get invited to go tuna fishing : ) ). Anyway, my favorite kayak rod is *** ***. They're are nice and light while not breaking the bank. For that matter I believe American legacy fishing has models on sale for $75 and I believe if you sign up for their newsletter you get $25 store credit. That's a nice rod for $50. As far as reels go, I'm partial to shimano, love my Stradic's, but there are many nice offerings from other manufacturers. You don't need a heck of a lot of line capacity to bass fish from kayak so something in the 1000 to 3000 should suit you. I fish 3000 size for all my inshore fishing. Good luck dude, search the forums for answers and tips. The people here are kind and very knowledgeable.
  9. $115? Where was this. Is the $129 in store or online as I do not live near a dsp believe it or not
  10. I am about to pull the trigger on one of these off Digitaka (~120) however, I cannot find any info on these reels. Does anyone know the US equivalent? I read somewhere that is was similar to the Saros but that was only one source.
  11. Yeah Compared to other companies ocean kayaks seat offering are lacking to say the least. I'm going to check out what a few of the local shops have and go from there. Thanks for the input guys.
  12. I just got anew ocean kayak trident and the seat on it is uncomfortable to say the least. I was curious as to what other options people have used that increased comfort on the water. from what I've read surf to summit makes a good seat but I've also read that the hobie seat is decent also. Has anyone used either?
  13. Sweet. Thanks again to those who took time to respond to my question
  14. Hey thanks for the insight J Francho!
