It's not a common recommendation around here, but I've had my best luck fishing a weightless, t-rigged 4.5" roboworm on a 1/0 wide gap hook with spinning gear and 6lb floro line.
I've gotten skunked many times on senko's, but I can usually count on 4.5" roboworms saving the day.
Lead is just used as a weight. If the lure or hook isn't weighted, then it probably doesn't have lead.
Lead also used to be used in paint, but I doubt it's still used. Perhaps one of the lure making guys can chime in on that one.
Me too! I was fishing for bass on a pond near a golf course and my brother and he bet me I wouldn't catch anything on it. Didn't catch any bass, but caught one of the biggest bluegill either of us had ever seen.
I think it's generally pretty illegal. When I was younger, the local bait shop that sold shiners went out of business, so we resorted to buying goldfish at the local pet store. Maybe that golf course has a monster goldfish population, but I doubt it.
Hey everyone! I started working in the East Bay about 6 months ago and am finally getting back into fishing after 5+ years. I've been going 2-3 times a week for the past few weeks. If anyone else is looking for a shore fishing buddy or for someone to split gas with on their boat, send me a PM.
Cheers!
