Whenever I'm having trouble hooking up with my dropshot rig i hook it wacky style and catch the hell out of them.

Well I guess if you want to catch something bust out a fly rod and some dry flies

Thats what my dad used to fix our transom after busting a weld open. It's cheap enough and it works i guess

Thanks for the help guys. I might get out friday or saturday. supposed to be mid 40s to mid 50s. The two days of cold weather have been tough. I'll slow roll a willow-leafed spinner bait in a white/chart. and see if I cant catch a fish or two. Maybe throw a jerkbait or two.

The last week has been beautiful weather wise. Air temps have been 50-60 for the last week or sow, but water is high and it just snowed last night. A few areas that are exposed to sunlight and water current have opened up and I want to go out in my 12 ft jon boat. I have a Lowrance Elite 4x Dsi unit and quite the arsenal of tackle. How can I cover water effectively during this time. (jusr finding any fish in general) I have tried football jigs, but that is a presentation for when you find fish. The problem is I cant find them. I have bank fished over 5-6 times already this year with absolutely nothing. I dont know what the water temp is yet. The area is a long winding creek that comes off a lake. It is about 100-150ft wide and some spots were about 20ft deep. I know that most of the fish will be in the main lake, but there are bound to be some fish because it stretches so far. The ice out is very late this year and the only fish I have seen move up are pike. -What areas should I focus on. -What depth -What presentation/cadence There will be alot of dead milfoil, and there is a alot of trees and brush in the water near shore. if that helps. Thanks. I bumped up the air pressure to 20 + and its better. Also, I have the reducer for the wicked, and have read online about why you should not use anything beside the companies reducers and water. Im only using water because its a water based paint. Shouldn't hurt anything. I'll keep experimenting!

Im in the same boat as you. (Not literally hehe) For years I have researched, read, scrounged, scraped and memorized EVERY bit and piece of imformation that I could possibly find about fishing. (Not only for bass either) I have learned so much just from other people's generosity in sharing tip and secrets. Just by reading you can prepare for tournaments. That's what Im doing, but the true test is going out and actually fishing and applying the knowledge that you have retained.

Almost all I fish is jigs. I use everything from 1/4oz up to 1oz. I would think that you would want at least a 7'3". Personally, I love my 7'6" flipping stick because of the leverage it gives me, the accuracy with pitching, casting distance, and hook setting from a distance.

Hahaha. My uncle is a Maine fly fishing guide, and has been fishing for all his life. He has a degree in biology and used to be a school teacher. Out of all the things he has taught me, I will always remember him saying that bass hate lizards, especially water-dogs. He says that during the spawn, there are lizards that go onto the beds and try to steal the eggs! I can only imagine that any seasoned old timer of a bass will have a personal grudge on any lizard they see!

Man are you missing out! This method can catch big fish, and large numbers. I love fishing from the bank on my favorite river for smallmouth. Best bait ever for my river hands down is a zara puppy. ANY color you throw will get smashed; sometimes as soon as it hits the water. I caught my personal best on the largest size of the Strike King Sexy Dawg. The fish had to be pushing 8-9 pounds! Best time to fish is pretty much any time of day. Best luck being in morning and afternoon. Any time you see bait fish being attacked is another time when a topwater plug shines. As far as the seasons to fish them? That would have to be summer and fall.

Yeah... You definitely can use pain brushes with acrylic paints for much cheaper than an airbrush. If you take your time on lures with a paint brush they can come out great! However if you are using a paint brush, you will tend to lay on a lot of paint. Airbrushes can give you color coverage, without weighing down the lure at all really. It all depends on your budget. You put spray paint and brushed paint on a bait. Use stencils for an even more professional look! Just remember to always clear coat with some type of epoxy or resin...

How do older anglers feel towards younger anglers? I feel that if they were any bit serious that they would want an older angler. Older anglers usually have been fishing for more time. I feel like nobody would want an 18 year old co-angler... Also, what if you have absolutely no experience fishing the techniques they are doing? For example; they are drop shotting in 60 ft. of water, while I do my best using a lipless crank? Not saying that is the case but if it were?What am I expected to do? Dropshot? I entirely understand that if I have the privilege of fishing on another person's boat that where he chooses to go and what he chooses to do are up to him. This would be my main concern even if I made it into a co-angler position. Also, say I don't have a cranking rod and the driver has two. He is using one, and the only rods I have are a jerkbait rod and a flipping rod. Will they usually share? Or are they concerned about their tackle being theirs?

Yea^^ Question: How good does your createx stay on before epoxying it? I noticed mine comes of extremely easy. You can take a fingernail and scratch it off like a lotto ticket... Also what did you use for the eyes?

It is a new, dual action gravity feed by badger. I was kind of hesitant about purchasing it because it was, at one point, $400. I got it on amazon for $80. It had mostly positive reviews, and as far as I can tell it nice quality. It has an adjustment at the rear for paint release control which is pretty nice. The model is the Sotar 20/20 2F. Im sorry that I didn't give you guys the specs to begin with... Wasnt thinking. As for the thinner, I have been using the Createx Wicked Reducer that came with the primary color paint combo. I tried that, but didnt really notice a difference between that and water. I decided to do what DakotaLakesTackle on youtube does with his paint. He dumps a little bit out and fills it up a tad with water. He also uses createx wicked, so I thought it would be alright.
