  1. Berkley has a rod in their lineup that is specifically for the umbrella rig.It has worked fine for me and for 50 bucks can't be beat. If your just starting with the rig and your on a tight budget like I am I highly recommend it. I will give you the specs when i return home.
  2. He was talking about the rodent and the rage tail anaconda last year. I have to catch the show tomorrow.
  3. What's bubba shooting?
  4. My leader is about 5' and I have the 10lb co polymer leader 8lb I am taking it out to test it. Im using a #1 VMC spinshot hook on this outing I hope it works out. Thanks for all the good info.
  5. Yes I tie it so its facing upwards it may be the hookset ill try it out.
  6. I drop through rod tip mabey 6" then I lift and step backwards all in one motion and start reeling
  7. I thought I was getting a positive hooksest. The hooks I am using are owner mosquito hooks. The reason I thought I needed braid was the lack of stretch. Both fish bit at the end of a long cast in deep water. I was also looking for the sensitivity, the one I lost today was a nothing bite. I mean the first time I have ever had a bite that light. I felt the weight and said its either a bush or a fish, what the heck. Stet the hook and felt the head shake was on for 5-10 seconds then gone.
  8. Im losing them during the fight
  9. And im tying the rig with my leader line right
  10. Felix how long was your leader
  11. Does anyone do it? I kno a dropshot is a finesse technique will the braid affect the presentation. I was thinking of using a leader mabey 5 or 6' or longer if need be. My reason for this is I keep losing fish and I was thinking the braid will help my hookup to land ratio
  12. Shore mainly
  13. I the thing is I only get spinner bait bites during the early spring. Im stocking up now to get my collection of spinner baits together. If a swim jig is finesse then its my best bet for the lake i fish. At my pond the fish are more aggressive, but the lake fish are a little more wary. I have to do what i did with all my other techniques, fish them and only them until i develop confidence in them.
  14. Do you guys use split tail trailers or a grub or swwimbait
  15. What is your favorite of the two In what situations would you pick one over the other and why

  17. Berkley powerbait products are $.99 after mail in rebate. I bought ten bags of the grubs and twitch tail minnows fro dropshot fishing.
  18. I also like the big bite baits shakey tail worm. The shorter ones work better on a dropshot.
  19. Im thinking about fishing spybaits how do they work and how do you fish them.
  20. I was using a roboworm in sexE shad junebug red never seen that color
  21. Yea durability was a factor for me I love the action of roboworms I may get both
  22. MacP I didn't know that the roboworm had the bold gill color didn't see it on TW. I will look again
