  1. Go on the flats and throw a gambler ez swimmer. You will have to mow through a bunch of slop, but the fish are there.
  2. No peacocks in lox. Coral Springs/parkland have the best peacock fishing in Broward. IMO
  3. let me know when you are here. one of my best spots is REALLY close to where you're at.
  4. yes lox road in boca. i also fish the boynton entrance as well when the water is super low. i have a couple of flipping stretches that usually hold some giants. again, this is all dependent upon the water levels.
  5. where in boca are you? i live in boca and would be happy to show you some of my hot spots. you have to keep them on the low though. many of my areas i have worked for years to figure them out and get known by the local residents of the many communities i fish.
  6. cichlid for sure. great snook bait.
  7. Right on Rob! Going up Sunday to look around. Loxahatchee is firing right now, and you don't have to go far.
  8. so how'd ya do? 5th place this weekend in the bassbusters was 30 pounds. i believe 37 won. crazy big bite.
  9. fished lox again today from 1-6 and crushed em again! i went with my partner to break in his new merc 250 optimax and we stopped at our first stop and caught at least 50 fish within 90 minutes. biggest fish was only 4 pounds, but every fish came on topwater. tried several other spots looking for a big bite, but it never came. had giant blow up my topwater, but she came unbuttoned. bassin lou-we are in an odd time for lox. they are draining water like mad. since thursday when i posted those pics, the water has dropped at least a foot. the key right now at lox is to find running water that has a deep drop nearby. those fish are stacked and waiting for ANYTHING to come swimming or floating by. pop r's, spooks, spinnerbaits waked and any other top water you are confident with. i lost a giant flipping on thursday night and that will soon be the best bite out there. once they stop moving the water, it will get tougher. hope this helps.
  10. first let me apologize to mike (piscicidal) for changing my mind. i found a pvc screw that fit my drain plug and i hit lox at 7pm. mike and I were supposed to go, but the drain plug issue made me cancel on mike. luckily i decided to go late. I stroked them! caught 25 pounds in 30 minutes. five 5 pounders in 10 minutes. Crazy bite tonight.
  11. stay in wellington. i have caught a bunch of fish on the golf course binks forest. also try the canals by the grass airport. try new baits out there. the summer time pattern is starting and many fish are only eating at certain times during the day. a 1/4 oz lipless or a small gold floating rapala will usually find them. throw senkos and 7inch junebug worms with as light a weight as you are comfortable with. good luck.
  12. nice mike. i'm going back out tonight to get some more.
  13. fished lox this morning from 7-12 and caught some chunks. spinnerbait was hot! super fun session.
  14. catch yourself some mayan cichlids and use those for bait. they are like snicker bars to snook. better use a bigger setup and hold on. love those spillway snook.
  15. i plan on flippin, pitchin and catchin big bass on lake okeechobee with 'em. i was talking with a fella last week who had a 3oz jig on his rod with a gambler cane toad as a trailer. he said he has won more money flippin that thing than any other bait combined! he was telling me that the heavier jigs make a different sound when they hit the sand and it attracts the bigger fish. excluding the gambler tourny, most of the tournys at the lake have one 30+ pound bag and then the weights drop off dramatically. he said the reason is, those guys are using the heavy jigs. now is the time on the lake for pitchin jigs, i just want to give the heavier ones a go.
  16. does anyone know of a company that sells 2oz. jigs? thanks in advance.
  17. 5/0 gama ewg is what i use. deadly combo.
  18. kotg is the best tourny to get your feet wet. you will be competing against the top anglers from lake okeechobe to miami. sam and fishy fingers nailed it. just be respectful and follow the rules. this is my 6th kotg and my partner and i qualified for the classic all 6 years. i still get that butterfly feeling everytime we take off. go for it bro! just to give you a heads up though----once you start tournament fishing, you WILL be addicted. BTW-piscicidal got big fish on sunday in the last round of the kotg! way to go mike! i believe it was a 7+pounder.
  19. we had 18#'s and lost 2 that would of put us close to 25. spook and flipping got all of our fish. this sunday is the final round of kotg. hope to see you guys out there.
  20. Good luck Kevin. I wish you the best of luck in Nevada. Once you get settled, come on BR and lets us know how your doing. When are you leaving? Do you have enough time for one more Lox outing?
  21. that's not bad at all rob. when i retire i will be living in a condo and have ZERO yard work. i actually found a great video on you tube on how to tune your mower up. i changed the oil, air filter, spark plug and blade. what a difference it made. i'm gonna wait another week before the initial cut. so far 90% of the sod has rooted. it looks amazing!
  22. what's up gentleman? do any of you have a lawnmower you are willing to sell/trade? i just laid 8 pallets of sod and my old mower is just that---old. i have a couple of pair of costas i am willing to trade. i also have a couple of reels as well. let me know if anyone has a good mower.
  23. Haven't seen any posts or replies from doug (bassnblvd). i hope all is well with him. where ya at doug?
  24. Woods was allowed to stay in the tournament due to a rule change two years ago that states a player, instead of being disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard, can be assessed penalty strokes afterward because all the facts concerning the issue were not known when the scorecard was signed.
