  1. What kinda of aluminum boat do you have? I was thinking of Ultrex would be a nice with aluminum for boat control.
  2. Triton has a Fish and Ski Line. 220 escape, 206 allure, 186 escape. Check out their website and maybe find a local dealer to look at them.
  3. I am currently searching and doing homework on Aluminum and fiberglass as well. I seem to get mixed reviews about aluminum's being blown around in the wind and being rough in choppy water. On the other hand, they are lighter to pull, can go in shallow water, and more affordable to maintain over time. The selection of used fiberglass is much greater than aluminum and I'm starting to think for the money, a used glass rig with upgrades is the way to go but still doing homework. I live close to you in Asheville and fish a lot of the same lakes.
  4. I was thinking about picking up a cranking rod and like the Chrome series from ***. Anyone tried these and have any thoughts? http://www.***.com/ http://www.***.com/fate-chrome/
  5. I go for extreme darks or extreme bright and flash with lots of vibration. Also fish tight to cover as mentioned before, the fish hold close to structure in muddy water. I go for a black trick worm fished close to laydowns, a chartreuse crankbait or spinnerbait, and gold/silver RattleTrap/lipless in muddy water. If water temp is warm, I like to fish fast to create more commotion.
  6. PLine Fluoroclear, strong, effective, affordable. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/P-Line_FloroClear/descpage-PLFC.html
  7. Falls Lake and Shearon Harris Reservoir are excellent. Jordan Lake is hit or miss and you are still very close to Kerr, Hyco, Mayo, and Lake Gaston. You are in a good fishing area where you can fish 12 months a year
  8. 38Lbs on Falls and Harris over the weekend. You will be catching it at a good time. Squarebills, shakeyheads, and Jigs
  9. I live 30 minutes away in Asheville and have fished it several time. This lake is a tourist destination, and not known as much for fishing but bass, carp, and brim can be caught in the right conditions. If your on the bank, it's going to be tough to access as the mountains slope right off into the water. It's not easy to walk around and cast in most places, hopefully you have access to a dock. Throw a shakey head black worm or small crank bait around any timber or blown down trees you can find. Also please tell everyone in Florida to stop buying property and moving to western north carolina.
  10. I fish Savannah River lakes Keowee, Harwell, Russell and East Tennessee Lakes Douglas, Cherokee and a few others. Depends on the weekend but they can get crowded and weather changes by the minute so my concern is that I would be frustrated by the mod v. On calm days with low traffic, it would be nice to take it up shallow in places.
  11. Has anyone had issues with a modified V hull on Aluminum boats. I was warned that they get blown around in the wind and don't handle chop well. Is a deep V aluminum a better buy?
  12. To bad for me, but this boat was pending and has now sold. Still looking for a 19-20 ft aluminum bass boat with upgrades for tournament fishing. Any help is appreciated.
  13. After some searching, it looks like the only way to donate gear is through the local events, which there are none that close to me. I know all these organizations need money, but I think it would be nice if you could ship or drop off old gear and it somehow be distributed to the kids. Anyway I will see what I can do, just hate throwing away stuff when I know some kid would like to have it.
  14. Thanks
  15. Does anyone know of a charity or organization that takes donated fishing equipment and tackle and gives it to underprivileged youth? Instead of throwing away older lures, I would much rather see it go to kid who could catch a fish. Thank for any help.
  16. I spoke with Jeff and the boat is under contract, but not sold. I am in a backup position. I will keep looking and thanks again to all of you for help and info.
  17. Excellent fishing lake, Nuclear power plant reactor that keep water temps warmer than most local water which allows the fish to get bigger. Public boat ramp is here. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Shearon+Harris+Boat+Launch/@35.6080496,-78.9412522,920m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x89ac97309421c599:0x75452f8ecc24c57c!8m2!3d35.6080453!4d-78.9390635 Holly springs is decent sized town with hotels, restaurants, etc. Not sure about water temps and clarity right now. Decent vegetation in this lake if you like to fish grass lines. https://***/outdoors/bass-fishing/Article/Details-on-the-Two-40-pound-Limits-of-Bass-in-North-Carolina-101458618 Here is a something to get you guys excited
  18. Therefore do you consider Xpress better than Crestliner, ranger, triton, lowe alumacraft, Sea Ark, etc? Thank you for this feedback.
  19. I have never been in an Xpress and honestly never heard of them until I started looking at Aluminum. I guess it's time to learn more but all reviews/feedback is welcomed before I drop a chuck of money.
  20. Even with upgrades for tournament fishing? Good Electronics, jack plate, aluminum trailer.
  21. Thanks for the help. To Clarify. Interested in Triton, Xpress, Alumacraft and Tracker but honestly don't have lots of experience with Aluminum brands so any feedback is appreciated.? Budget is 20-30K. Looking for decent electronics and storage. I don't need a big engine and speed is not important to me. I hear 150 on aluminum is plenty and I would be fine with a 115. Willing to travel 2-3 hour and Knoxville is certainly doable.
  22. Thanks for helping, but nothing on this listing works for me.
  23. I am having a hard time finding used Aluminum boats in my area of Western North Carolina/ Upstate South Carolina. I'm looking for 2010-2016 models with upgrades for tournament fishing and occasionally family trips with grandkids/tubers. Any suggestions?
  24. Problem is my wife won't trust me to watch the baby while fishing, and she's probably right. Just have to separate new born duties and fishing for a little bit. Then it will be time to teach the kid how to fish, I'm very excited about that.
  25. First Child is due in a few weeks, I need all the fishing time I can get before he/she arrives. Come on sunshine!!!!!!
