  1. I wouldn't buy a Crucial any longer, I'd rather buy a Zodias rod.
  2. Let us know it feels. I have moved away from BPS gear, not to say they aren't good. I still own 3 BPS Pro Qualifier reels and two BPS Carbonlites (The previous generation). The reels are tanks and the two Carbonlite are light and has decent sensitivity. I haven't tried one of the Titanium rods though. Not to rain on your parade but the Fenwick Smallmouth ET - 6'10 MH/F is for 75 bucks. (at least I saw this weekend still, usually 130-140) They are one of my favorite rods, they are light and sensitive.
  3. Largemouth in my opinion too.
  4. That thing looks sweet. I may have jump in. Normally don't go for the newest model. It may be time to get my first Ci4 Plus.
  5. That's good to hear! Is it stiff still? That was my beef overall for St Croix rods.
  6. Similar story for my wife. She always fished with a cheap rod and reel, when she used my Fenwick ET Smallmouth Spinning rod, she was amazed how much she could feel. So now when she does go out she doesn't like that 70 dollar Shimano Zirca spinning rod anymore. She wants to use the Fenwick.
  7. That is great! The site is pretty great to get a lot of great advice/feedback.
  8. I can't seem to find it on their website. Maybe sold out already?
  9. Oh thanks for the heads up that it was online. I just assumed it was in store....hmmm, my wallet may feel lighter today.
  10. Too bad none around here. What's going on with GLX sales. Is there an update coming? A few places are having 25% off at the moment.
  11. Yes I agree, buzz baits, frogs, stick baits...I've caught pike on everything. However I don't pull them out during the offseason because I catch more bass with them than pike.
  12. To be honest I haven't handled the new one. The old one flexed way too much. Maybe do the *** test the reel out program? The main reason I don't like the low end models is because they flex a lot and just feel like they will explode anytime they are under pressure. The Casitas I'll admit looks decent, but I'll probably won't go there since I don't buy below a Citica. My recommendation that I have personal experience at the low price point is BPS Pro Qualifier. I still have 3 of them. They get to the 80 price point during sales.
  13. Sorry I don't, but I'd go with the aluminum framed reel. Even though I'm a Shimano fan, I wouldn't buy the Caenan. At the minimum I'd go Citica I for Shimano.
  14. Feel the same here, but have to wait until the 25th for zone 16. I do have the annual cottage lined up for opening weekend. I can't wait!
  15. Moving baits would be fine. Maybe a Dobyns Fury owner can chime in about sensitivity. That might be a better option.
  16. No experience with the M1. The Savvy stay away imo if you are using it for bottom contact/sensitivity. The rod was a dead stick compared to other rods in the range.
  17. Weightless trick worm, fluke and split shot rig.
  18. The Curado I series for me! But most reels at that price are pretty competitive.
  19. They always pack it with a lot of grease, sometimes it is just over done. Personally I always clean them quickly. It isn't just Shimano practice. A lot of anglers don't ever clean a reel like we do. That is why they soak it with oil and grease to make it last.
  20. Thanks sounds like I will like it.
  21. Yes a few times, I would stop picking the birds nest, set the hook and bring them in.
  22. Nice! However you'll be back! ?
