  1. World Peace could happen if we all stared at those pages with Kate Upton.
  2. My wife likes to keep it simple when we go fishing. She does the standard worm and bobber, I actually love the time we spend together. She does like to comment though why I bring so many rods and reels when we go out. LOL Yeah though it is fun, she doesn't care if she catches bass and just wants to have fun pulling in any fish. She did try for the first time last year a JIG and a shallow Crankbait, but she got bored quickly due to no fish. Course this was bank fishing. So we were limited to our spots.
  3. HA True, but if I am to carry a couple of them, might as well make it worthwhile!
  4. Ahh nice! They don't offer them up here in Canada or I'd have signed up for their CC. Yet another disadvantage! d**n!
  5. You too? I have a minor issue, reddish tinge colors usually give me the worst problems. Not total color blind, but enough to get noticed when I say, nice pink shirt? and they go huh!
  6. If he's married, hopefully he can stay married.
  7. Sounds great, my wife says no more anything period. What did you have to do to get your lure?
  8. I am in zone 16, I'm contemplating a trip up (zone 17?) to get the 2 weeks head start. Still a long ways away.
  9. Ahh I see, now I understand. I haven't tried my BPS PQ reel with light weights, I have a Curado 50e and a BPS Prolite Special to use for those applications. Which reminds me that is a good reel for lighter plastics.
  10. Have you considered the BPS Pro Qualifier? I mean I'm sure you could get a bargain when the Spring Classic is coming up. That way you wouldn't have to spend over a 100 bucks for a reel that you may or may not pick up again.
  11. Alright, please list them all I'm dying to know!
  12. Yeah us Ontario Residents do not get the good stuff like the guys from the SOUTH. Just another kick while we are down waiting for the season to open up, while they get to fish all year long.
  13. I usually try and do a 50/50 split, For braid or floro and even PLine! Cause I'm a "frugal" fisherman.
  14. Hrm didn't even cross my mind! Now you got me thinking. Thanks!
  15. A snapping turtle....very crappy to unhook. Felt bad! As for Saltwater - Caught a purse, octopus and a sea cucumber.
  16. Looks like we have decided on this, anyone have any input? http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-watercraft-powerboats-motorboats-14-ft-boat-and-trailer-for-sale-W0QQAdIdZ455486142 Since I never had a boat like this, is there anything I should be looking for when I ask to take a look at it? On another note even the used market up here in Canada sucks! So much better in the US. (American who moved to Canada because wife wanted to raise the kids away from NYC!, Well I tried to convince her to move back to the Seattle area, but no avail!) Anyway, thanks for any input anyone can give me.
  17. When I first decided to buy a baitcaster and learn from it, I bought a crappy combo from a local retail store. It was an Abu Garcia combo with a 5 bearing reel called Sapphire Crest. It was and is the crappiest reel, all I kept getting was bird nest after birdnest. Even decided to give it another go now that I'm experienced. Still backlashes like crazy even if I tuned it. I HATE that THING! I'll probably do the trade in during the BPS SPring Classic and trade it for a BPS PQ. Unless I can get the significant other to allow me to get a Chronarch. lol
  18. I use a 7'6" heavy Custom Loomis Blank and use 7'2" Compre. However, if I'm in my canoe I find using my 6'6" MH Shimano Convergence because the shorter length makes it easier to pitch.
  19. Ok, looks like I have a budget of 2k to buy a small motor fishing boat. Here are some I'm looking at right now and was wondering if it's worth it. Right now, I have these two as my favorites: http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-watercraft-powerboats-motorboats-14-Runabout-boat-motor-and-trailer-W0QQAdIdZ455174744 http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-watercraft-powerboats-motorboats-Sportcraft-bowrider-W0QQAdIdZ432541763 I'd like to get your opinions on them or if these others are a better deal? http://guelph.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-watercraft-powerboats-motorboats-12-ft-Springbok-motor-and-trailer-W0QQAdIdZ453452726 - I was thinking about this one, but price doesn't seem to be on par with the other two. http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-watercraft-powerboats-motorboats-14ft-Cadorette-boat-W0QQAdIdZ450237539 http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-watercraft-powerboats-motorboats-grew-boat-for-sale-W0QQAdIdZ398294907 http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-watercraft-powerboats-motorboats-1983-THUNDERCRAFT-W0QQAdIdZ404425205
  20. Yes I agree, last summer I used a white/cht Buzzbait over deep water and got a couple.
  21. I've always leaned towards the reel. Not that I have yet to buy a very high end reel yet, I usually buy Shimano (Curado/Citica), I did however pick up a very good deal on used St Croix Avids (2 Baitcaster and 1 Spinning). After using these, it has started to change my mind and am thinking of putting more money into rods and possibly making it at least 50/50.
  22. I put on 15lb braid on mine and would add a leader with flouro or PLine if the situation required something more subtle.
  23. I have used my Veritas 7'3" MH as my all around set up, I have paired it with my CiticaG6. I fish from a canoe and shore, with this setup I can throw pretty much anything with it. So I'd agree with everyone's assessment for a 7' MH.
  24. Yes I bought the same one, awesome bag. Now I can get rid of my daughter's old "Purple" backpack I was using for my tackle.
  25. Wow nice score. Yeah the local WalMart didn't have anything here either. Of course the Wal Mart here isn't as cool as most of you guys as they only carry the crappy retail brands of rods/reels.
