  1. Lately I’ve been buying new from Digitaka, however if I can get a better deal on a used one I’ll grab it. Really in the end no preference. If it wasn’t for Digitaka though, I’d probably would lean to buying used as the US/Canada versions are more expensive.
  2. Understood about the warranty, more getting clarity on the Xpeditor service. I expect the used rod went through the paces and no warranty issues would exist. You have done this with the newer rods with serial numbers?
  3. So, I was under the impression if I am not the original owner for any of the rods after August 2020 when they started the serial numbers. I wouldn’t be able to use any of the warranty programs including the xpeditor program. However, a friend of mine said that wasn’t true that I still can use the xpeditor service on the newer rods. Anyone here have any experience on this? And can verify? I’ve been ignoring used G Loomis rods due to this and always just bought new.
  4. I just traded in 3 old reels that I would never use. Saved 140 bucks off my 3 reels, 2 2500 Vanfords and a Stradic 2500 FL. 2nd time I’ve used it. For sure I think the current trade in program definitely favors BPS. I think though it’s a solid deal to get the 200 and 220 trade ins. If they had a Curado MGL I would’ve nabbed that too. Unfortunately didn’t have one in stock.
  5. Why what’s the issue? Don’t like the sound?
  6. I continue to use both, I still favor baitcasters. However, spinning setups are easier for me to skip, fish lighter baits (don’t want to hassle with baitcasters), I can give myself a break (I use RH BC and reel left on Spinning) just how I learned and if my friends or family needs a rod to fish with….it is easier to let them use those setups. I just bought my first NRXs(+), I got the 852S and that feels great! Don’t really think it’s more cumbersome.
  7. Thanks and answered much appreciated!
  8. Anyone down there willing to show me the ropes? I am initially going to be shore fishing. I hope to get a kayak once I am settled down. When I mean show me the ropes, I mean willing to take me around. I should be moving down in around July or August. DM me if you prefer! Would like to try and get my first Guadelupe bass too!
  9. I'm more stuck on, that he likes the Winn grips! Like Kidflex, the Okuma rods are underrated. If I didn't like my Loomis and Shimano sticks I'd probably be an Okuma guy. I still have an old 2 pc saltwater stick that I use when I go to Florida. (2 decades now)
  10. Go for the BFS, imo the standard Zodias (have spinning and baitcasting version) fishes more heavier. Regarding the Chronarch CI4+ casting 1/8 oz plus 2-3" plastics, I think it should be ok as long as the rod can load it. I haven't tried that with my Chronarch Ci4+ though.
  11. I think the 843 MBR falls in the same boat, if you can get a rod with this type of performance it would be a great all around rod. I have this in the IMX and E6X.
  12. Boy that was a lot of numbers.
  13. I own both, you can't go wrong with either. In fact, I'd buy both because you need both.
  14. 30lb braid is as low as I'll go. Definitely use backing or putting tape down, so the line doesn't slip.
  15. 6'6 medium light spinning - Weightless Zoom Finesse Trick Worm, Grn Pumpkin 7' medium spinning - Dropshot - my favorite would be the same worm. 7' medium heavy casting - Chatterbait/Spinnerbait 7'2 medium heavy cranking - Jerkbait 7'3 heavy casting - Jig with you favorite trailer.
