  1. I would stick with St Croix for now. The Legend Xtreme is their top of the line for a reason. I don't think the the Dobyn's come even close. St Croix has every technique or set up covered. Take advantage of their sponsorship, that's why you have it.
  2. I have a President LP on a custom 7'3" Heavy action President LP on a 6'9" MH Kistler Magnesium President WLP on a 6'9" MH Kistler Magnesium Trion on a BPS Rick Clunn 7' Heavy Trion on a BPS Extreme 7'6" Heavy Trion on a BPS Crankin' Stick 7'6" Med. Older Supreme LP on a BPS 7' Heavy Bionic Blade and a Trion Spinning reel on a 7' Med Berkley Lightening Rod. Yeah I know....lots of heavy action rods.....I fish Lake Fork a lot. LOL
  3. I fish some ponds around here and almost always down-size whatever I'm throwing. Don't forget the Beetle Spin.
  4. Good....I've thought about it myself.
  5. It's so funny that I even read this post. I don't throw many inline spinners down here in Texas, rarely actually, but I was just in the garage looking at an old Hildebrandt inline that I love to throw over matted hydrilla wondering if I could duplicate it. Then I came in and saw this post. Lots of good ideas and good looking baits. Back to the garage!
  6. PM sent.
  7. Don, have you seen this DO-It mold? Line tie is similar. Model #'s 3467 & 3459.
  8. Interesting....I would have thought that the lead would be too hot. You have a video? Interested in how you did it.
  9. +1 I had a 10" bass take a scum frog and couldn't even get a finger around it. He definitely bite off way more than he could chew!
  10. The Zebco 33's were what a lot of bass fishermen used back in the day. I still have a few of the older ones. If you can find the ones with the "screw lock" that allows you to remove the face, those are really good. Great for shooting docks! You really need good line to keep them from not picking the line up. I like Berkley XL, it seems to work the best for me. Johnson made some good ones too but you have to get the older models as well.
  11. Welcome From Arlington, TX.
  12. He was at our church in Feb. I got him to sign my Skeeter cap even thought he said he shouldn't 'cause he's sponsored by Ranger.....then he laughed. Bought his book....awesome isn't quite enough!
  13. CP, Package is on it's way. There should be enough to share with your friend. The packaged hard baits were purchased in the late 60's or early 70's..... you may want to put them on the shelf. Enjoy!
  14. I haven't tried the PQ or the Bionic but I do have three of the Extreme's and couldn't be happier. They are around the same price as the Bionic.
  15. First off CP I commend you on taking him fishing in the first place. You are a fine example of what fishing is all about. If it weren't for our peers a lot of us either wouldn't be fishing or would be like your friend. You may find you have established a life-long friendship. Be patient, teach what you know and the new things you learn. He will make a lot of mistakes and really try your patience but when you two are older you can look back and probably have some good laughs. You will have plenty of time to fish but maybe not a lot of opportunities to share it with others. By the way.....as of this post, you have made 403 posts. YOU'VE WON A PRIZE! PM me your address and I'll see that you get it!
