I agree, some guys just don't talk. I spill the beans, I like sharing what works so other people can have success on the water.

Been having same problems here on the Ohio. The smallies are holding very tight to cover. I mean very tight, you have to literally drop your lure on them. It's tough fishing but you can still catch them if the conditions are not too dangerous to be out on the water. Spinnerbaits and small jigs are the rule here but I have been having great success with a weighted wacky rig with some loud rattles if the water is muddy. I also attach a screw in spinner to one end for flash. Hope this helps.

Yes, that's the area. If you've ever been to Seneca Rocks that's the River I'm referring to. I swear they eat the trout, that's how they get so big.

Not as much effort as practice and lots and lots and lots of patience. I was fortunate enough to learn when I was a kid by my Dad and Uncles. I'm almost 30 now and have had plenty of time to learn these two facts.

You guys don't know a thriller til you start fly fishing for bass. A one pound smallmouth can feel like the next state record. One year I was fishing for trout on North Fork and ended up catching one of the biggest smallies of my life. Fought the fish for almost 30 min. on my fly rod. Will never forget it.

I would have to pick small streams and creeks, bass are so predictable to fish in creeks year round. I love wading them for smallmouth and largmouth, some of the biggest bass I've caught have been out of creeks. The number one reason I favor this type of fishing is the fact that I can fish all day and not see one person. I get too frustrated fishing lakes because I don't fish them enough, I can't afford it. When fishing creeks, all you need is two or three lures and your set.

Check out Lew's tackle. They have a line up to meet anyone's budget. I realy like there speed spin series, almost changed out all of my spinning reels to them. For texas rigs or senkos, I prefer a 7 ft. med. action speed stick paired with a speed spin 300. This reel has a fast retrieve (30 ipt) for taking up slack.

If your going fishing in a swimming pool with no rocks, mussels, grass, or wood to reel through then it's good stuff. If your fishing in the real world and spend $20 on a spool then it's junk. If distance is what your going for, try out Spiderwire ultracast or Sufix 832. I would go with 10# test to keep the dia. down.

Snapping turtle. Biggest pain in the rear to deal with. I'm not the turtle man and there wasn't any live action.

I did the same last year also. I've been stocking up on closeout gear this fall and winter to send those guys. It's a great program. I also help out my local high school fishing club so them kids can have a positive experience.

I live in West Virginia and would like some info on the pre-spawn period. Springtime here is very unpredictable. I know water temp is a big factor but I mainly fish rivers, Ohio and Little Kanawa to be exact. If there is anybody in the surrounding area to lend me as much information they can I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
