  1. After reading some of this post I googled Acme Mapper 2.0 but it returns Acme Mapper 2.1 then tells me that I must update my internet explorer browser or upgrade to google chrome. Don't know if this is your problem. Is it difficult to uprade Internet Explorer? I would like to try Acme Mapper.
  2. I'm back to normal but I was logged in as Catt. For some reason I had an urge to fish Toledo Bend...
  3. There was a employee who worked at a warehouse and every day his boss was pretty tough on him and harassed him constantly. The boss would say to the employee, "hey jacka$$, you about done with that?" "Hey jacka$$, you're doing that wrong!" "Hey jacka$$, get back to work!" The defeated looking employee would turn and get back to his task. Finally a new guy notices one day and wants to share his two cents. The new guy says, "I know I'm new here, but you don't have to put up with him calling you a jacka$$ for the rest of your life." As if the employee was unaffected he turned to the new guy and says in a stutter, "HeeHaw, HeeHaw, HeeHaw-ways says that."
  4. Ha! I'm the last person you should listen to! It does crack me up when people ask about a rod for throwing a pink jitterbug in 75 degree water in odd numbered years during falling barometric pressure for female bass in a post-tornadic weather pattern but before the summer equinox. Good luck and catch 'em til your arm is sore!
  5. This has crossed my mind but I do the lazy thing and pick up a Super Spook Jr. Maybe I'll knuckle down like you. Good info and post.
  6. Sounds like a TERRIBLE set up! I think the best thing to do is get rid of this rig. Let me help you out. You can ship it to me at... Just kidding! Hope you catch a ton! How do you like the yellow braid?
  7. Where's the best place to look for these fish in 40 degree water? Deep I'm sure. What's the best cold water tactic?
  8. I don't think I would ever consider them my first choice for bass fishing either, but I can see them being a good striper rod. Lighter is better.
  9. Hahaha! Brutal review. At least I got a good laugh.
  10. I saw the Ugly Stick GX2 rod on a saltwater fishing show and was unaware Ugly Stick has a new version. Has anyone heard anything about these rods? Is there a vast improvement compared to previous models? Just curious.
  11. I like BAM. Haven't finished this issue, but did read the Float n Fly article. I like winter articles because it seems like this is the toughest time of the year to fish. When it's 20 outside and the water is 40 it's tough to apply Ish's shallow water winter tactics! But it's something to consider when it warms a bit.
  12. True. The "reaction" strike would be less dependent on the type of line. What about multicolored line? Would different colors filter out different rates maybe breaking up the outline of the line? This is a great subject judging by all the different responses and disciplines in fishing.
  13. My PB was on Lake Greeson. Not as well known for stripers as Beaver or Ouachita.
  14. I live in AR and stripers are in many bodies of water in my state. I've been on guided trips and we used gizzard shad everytime. Just bass fishing, I have caught them on a half ounce Rat'L'Trap. If I was unguided and targeting them I'd have to say "The" Rig, umbrella rig or maybe a big bucktail jig. Maybe a trolling crankbait in a trout color.
  15. That's what I keep thinking. Does anyone have any knowledge of what colors are visible at different depths? This may not be helpful looking at it from our eyes capability, but perhaps there is some scientific evidence of how the rods and cones in a bass' eyes operate and which component (rods or cones) are prevalent over the other.
  16. I've got either a Gen 1 or 2 Revo S and I made a cast and the little insert that goes inside the levelwind line guide came off. I put it back in but it falls out every time. How do I fix this issue? Glue? Can I replace the entire assembly or just that component? Thanks
  17. I do eat LMB from time to time. They are tasty as are many other fish. I've got nothing wrong with a guy who can catch his dinner. And in the words of Ted Nugent, "you can't grill it 'til you kill it." Catch and release is great too. I think the fishing world has room for both types.
  18. When you say "graph" instead of "fish finder".
  19. No, it's not a new commercial but as a NASCAR fan I do like it. I was hoping for more burnouts in the "delivery car"! Are you guys Smoke and Danica haters? LOL Look on the bright side, now Smoke has Happy Harvick.
  20. Every trip is a fun fishing trip. When it ceases to fun I will quit. It's just a hobby, not a job. Don't care about fishing for money.
  21. Got it. Been on the water once with it. So far seems like a great unit. Plan on getting familiar with it more this year.
  22. Fish structure more effectively and get offshore.
  23. As far as what they are eating at the moment you can feel their belly to see if it is hard or soft for shad or crawfish. I think it will depend more on what forage is in your lake and what that forage's life cycle is throughout the year. Match the hatch.
  24. All true, except I believe the July race at Daytona is 400 miles. I always look forward to the 24 hours at Daytona. I've been trying to watch more F1 myself. Other than the Daytona 500, I have to say my favorite racing day of the year is Memorial Day weekend with the Indy 500 and Coke 600, with the Bristol night race in August a close second.
