  1. Haven't seen any fishing reports for Greeson for several weeks. My only experience on Greeson was many years ago. Caught a 30+ lbs striper. Should hold a lot fish including big ones. Lots of flooded timber. Not sure on water clarity. Drop a white spinnerbait down and see how long you can see it before it disappears. Maybe start the first two hours of morning and last two hours of daylight fishing shallow. Spawning is well over by end of May. Maybe hit some main lake points. Bluegills will spawn here in early May. Throw some bluegill/bream colors up shallow. Striper guides use gizzard shad. Anything in the bluegill to shad colors should work. Bang those Bandits off some shallow timber in the mornings! Wish I could help or knew something about this lake. Didn't want to see your post get ignored by an Arkansan. Good luck!
  2. What's on my mind is why am I catching fish on a jerkbait with water temps around 75 deg? I didn't think it would work as well post spawn (assuming spawn is temps 60-65). LMB and walleye are hitting it from bluffs to submerged points on two different bodies of water. I'll keep throwing it until they quit. Read an article from Ike where he likes to throw it year round. I have been pleasantly surprised with the JB the last two weeks.
  3. What about tree bass!? Who hasn't drug a limb off the bottom or hooked a stump? They are predominant in most waters and I'd like them to get the respect they deserve.
  4. I don't let anyone else's definitions and standards dictate if I had a good day fishing. It's a hobby and the point of a hobby is to enjoy it so the only goal for me is to have fun. I don't own a scale.
  5. The first one I grab!
  6. Maybe fish some rocky areas that are exposed to sunlight.
  7. I haven't had any issues with BPS. Employees make the difference, not the corporate logo on the store. Apparently there are some employees out there giving particular stores a bad name.
  8. that's snazzy Wayne
  9. Ahhhhhhh...thanks
  10. What is the NMEA function used for on a Humminbird? I saw a youtube video on how to turn it on but have no idea what it is used for and after a google search all I discovered is that it stands for National Marine Electronics Association. Where's Wayne P when you need him?
  11. Why can't all the knots just get along! LOL
  12. And these conversations are why I visit Bass Resource. I feel like there are good points in each reply.
  13. It's either Fifth Wheel or Pop-Up...then the grandchild can be called Tent. Pretty soon when you get to great-grandchildren we'll have to use Cardboard or Tarp.
  14. I know what you're thinking: Arkansas...mobile home aka "trailer", but actually that's not it. My dad and I worked together. He loved campers and RV's so our buyer at Ally bank always called him RV. After I bought a camper our Ally buyer called me Trailer as in not quite as big as an RV since I was the son. I didn't choose it and it stuck because other buyers that I never had met referred to me as trailer when I called so I ran with it!
  15. So what do you think would make NASCAR better?
  16. Rant or not you're still my favorite Hog fan! WPS!!! I think NASCAR is taking an NFL approach. You can't choke in the playoffs. Regardless of your regular season record, much like the 24 race DNF driver, the emphasis is performance when the heat is on. I'm not soapboxing for NASCAR. Just glad to see some guys talk racing. I also think many fans turn off the TV when Jimmie is knocking out 6 championships. I believe this is NASCAR's remedy for post season boredom.
  17. Transitioning from Finance Manager at a Buick/GMC dealer to helping my dad start and run his own dealership. It's an exciting, stressful time. In the end though I see more freedom and in that I see more fishing time!
  18. Lack of fishing isn't a just cause for divorce, no matter how much we "love" it. A man has to choose his priorities. A man also has to hold himself accountable for his choices. Marriage is a mutual decision. We are also hearing one side of the story. HOWEVER, if it is all true... Let's play Devil's advocate: "It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house" Don't know what to tell you on this one. It's a push. There's nothing wrong with looking out for friends as long as they understand they are responsible for their actions no matter who gave them the advice, whether it be good or bad. It's a touchy subject and a difficult one at that.
  19. Hahahaha, wait...Watkins Glen, New York?
  20. Absolutely! Think about the Chase format. I know I've seen guys like Marcos Ambrose win at the Glen and David Ragan win at 'Dega. Those guys would at least make it to the first round! And a lot of people will say "that's as far as they will get" but at least there is some excitement and some under-dogs to root for. I don't get excited when guys like Clint Bowyer are finishing 7th or 8th in the points while Jimmie gives everyone an education in consistency. In my book, which is not worth much, this is one of the better moves that Brian France could put his name behind. No guarantees, gotta win. I understand the importance of consistency and leading in points, but everyone is playing by the same rules so there's no complaining at the end of the season. And if you're leading in points more times than not it's because you've at least won a race or two. So it's simple: WIN!
  21. Daytona is fast approaching and I want you Cup guys to chime in. To all the F1, ALMS, and insert your racing series here guys: I know, your cars are fast and nimble. I watch your races too. But nothing gets me pumped up like the start of a new NASCAR season...and then we're all bored when Jimmie Johnson dominates late in the season and takes home yet another title. Not a 48 hater, just pointing it out. But this year we have a new "playoff" system and I'm really excited about the possible outcome at Homestead.
  22. Ditto on the western fishing section, articles and videos. Definitely good advice. You might want to bribe Sam, grease the wheel if you know what I mean! On a serious note, top right corner of every forum is the gear icon. This is your friend... Good luck!
  23. Welcome aboard! Ask a lot of questions. You'll learn that everyone has different answers but take what you feel is valuable. To me, the following is the biggest help: At the top right of this screen and every forum is an icon that looks like a gear, located to the right of the green magnifying glass. Click on it and you can discover literally every topic related to bass fishing (and some that aren't) that has been discussed, either current discussions or old archived topics. I always use this tool and it is very helpful. Late at night when there's not a lot of discussion going on, type in "structure" or "water temp". I promise you'll be reading for a long time.
