  1. You can add a jack plate to pretty much any bass boat.. Once you have a jack plate you can add a powerpole to that. More expensive way of getting your power pole but you dont have to touch your transom. No offense but your sales guy seems like an idiot
  2. If thats what happened and you need a new light housing definitely go LED. I blew more bulbs when I ran regular lights. Walmart, $30, 2 hours and I had a new harness through my trailer with new lights which dont run the risk of blowing anymore!
  3. West Chester here!
  4. Depends on which Saranac, (Upper, Middle or Lower). I have plenty of spots on the Lower and Middle but they are connected to Kiwassa, Oseetah and Flower which literally give you every type of structure you could imagine and you can lock between them. Upper sits on its own
  5. Heres a better question: Whats the difference between a 14' canoe with only a trolling motor, and a 20ft ranger with only a trolling motor? Answer: In the eyes of the law, NOTHING. Pay it or strip the motor. I decided to pay.
  6. I remember back when they came out and I gave the squarebills a try. Two years later, hundreds of fish and I finally broke the bill off. Bought a few more in the same exact color and the one I had had gotten so faded it was ridiculous. Then again, I always wondered why it kept getting better and better. Mine are now sitting in the window sill to fade lol
  7. Only pic I have right now
  8. Paycheck hooks are the best ive ever thrown. Trokars tear the bait a lot too much
  9. $115. I think 90 0f that goes to flw. Then $20 per day of fishing
  10. Lose the swivel, tie direct. I go with a 4-5ft leader and it will slowly get shorter as it snags and breaks
  11. I've used Yakima and Thule. Yakima in my eyes is much better than Thule in terms of feet and crossbars but they seem to be on a level playing field with the actual racks (kayak rack, bike rack etc.) I just sold my car and bought a truck so I have a Yakima system (q towers, crossbars, and fairing) if your interested. They also have the lock cores in each of the feet keyed the same.
  12. bad distance in casting or wind knots are the only reason for concern. Otherwise ignore it. A lot or reels have weird patterns, especially with braid
  13. nothing innovative to begin with. dont like the call by BASS
  14. I keep it in!! Nobody will tap the back in a parking lot withot a big dent lol
  15. Bearings would be felt on both the cast and the retrieve.. Pinion COULD cause a clicking but would effect the casting distance at all since it is in freespool. The problem may be that your yoke jack isnt properly pushing the pinion out of the way and the spool is clicking over the end of the pinion on a cast. Do me a favor, if you can recreate the sound while sitting down, put only a few pounds of drag on, and pull the line out. Watch the spool very very closely and when you hear a click watch to see if the spool moves to the left at all. If it does it is either a problem with the spool or pinion or shifter of yoke (yes I know it could be a bunch of things but I have seen this problem a bunch on reels in general)
  16. You can be sure that the water already has it in it even if they dont
  17. Ive always done well when the guys at my local pond mow around it. Ask them if they can mow it so it blows into the water. Then pick up a frog and fish it through the grass clippings. Same applies to the weed eating!
  18. The only thing that matters is that its an electric foot pedal. So ultimately the answer is no
  19. Keep an eye on your spare as well. When I had mine replaced they were all 8 years old and the spare was cracked worse than the used tires and needed replacing. Sun plays havoc on rubber. Also, rotating them can add a lot of life between all 3
  20. I thought the same thing. Ive only ever seen it where the hub is a totally different piece than the wheel and tire. For the OP, I took my boat and trailer to the tire shop (after making sure they had the tires), they had me back it in and I stood there while they jacked it up and replaced the tires right on the spot for me. Didnt take half an hour from the time I got there. Much easier than trying to jack it up and leave it in your driveway while you go
  21. Lucky for you the Presidents are very easy to service yourself. I am very familiar with stripping them down completely for ultrasonic cleanings so if you have any questions dont hesitate to ask. Also like stated above, don do it without a schematic and even take pictures/notes while disassembling. Numbering the screws and noting what parts they went to can really help as well
  22. Well your name on here is fitting! I would invest in an oxygenator too
  23. Ive been doing this for a few years just continually adding stuff. First question to SERIOUSLY consider is honestly do you plan on having the boat for a long time. I ran into this and realized that the extra grand I was going to dump into a new item could just go towards getting a new boat in a few years. If the answer is yes, then it is all preference. (I know thats not what your looking for). I run an HDS 7 Touch at the console with a different smaller unit up front not connected to eachother. Personally I found swiveling a unit to be such a pain that I wouldnt do it as I tend to run around a lot and it hurts after the day of craning your neck. Plus you have to realize the transducer is 18 feet behind you, not on the trolling motor. I did add a Talon also. A lot of my fishing is 6 ft or less, and it has many more uses such as docking or loading, unloading yourself and I have found it very very valuable. #1 is dont buy based on what others say you need. Everyone fishes different, evaluate your tendencies and see where the money is best spent
