  1. I've hit 2 Walmarts going through the same stuff. $1.50 can't be beat!
  2. I personally have not had luck with it. Tried it in 10 lb. and 12 lb. test and didn't like it. It coiled up a lot on me on my spinning reels and had bad memory. Maybe I got a bad batch? Not sure, but haven't bought it again.
  3. Rosangela's in Evergreen Park, IL. Grew up a few blocks away. The best pizza around. The Rosie's special, sausage, onion, and green pepper is my absolute favorite. I have to stop there whenever I am in town. Nothing here in Indiana even comes close!
  4. Pizza is like sex. Even when its bad, its still pretty good.
  5. Are looks that important? Get what you're comfortable with and can afford. The fish don't care if your color scheme of the rod and reel match.
  6. Bass Pro has a new Extreme Spincast Reel, 4.6:1 ratio, can handle braid, star drag, and not too heavy. It casts well as I threw lipless cracks just as far as my spinning reels. And it's under $30. Not bad for a reel to mess around with. Works well around docks. I will definitely use it along with my others. The fish don't know the difference!
  7. I would check Craigslist regularly. You can find all sorts of boats in your price range, or even less, and customize it how you want. Also check local estate sales. That where I found my 12' Alumacraft and got it for a steal! Then I decked it out the way I wanted. Saved a bunch over buying new. Just a thought....
  8. Good job!
  9. On most trolling motors, there is a bolt and a nut that holds the head (top) onto the shaft. If you unscrew the bolt and pull it out, making sure to catch the nut, the head can be turned 180 degrees. Then just line up the holes and put the bolt back through carefully so you don't pinch the wires. Tighten it up with the nut and you can mount it on the bow, having the handle facing in. Takes 5 minutes!
  10. You might want to try to take a look. How long has it been installed? Just to be safe...
  11. Pressure treated wood has copper in it. Copper and aluminum DO NOT MIX! Pressure treated wood will react with the aluminum and ruin your boat. If you use wood, get unreated plywood and treat it with a sealant such as Thompsons Water Seal, etc. Its an extra step, but worth it. That is, if your boat is aluminum....
  12. I am looking to mount a transom trolling motor to the bow of my semiV boat. I have reversed the head already, and now I have been staring at the boat trying to get the best idea on where to put it. Anyone have any ideas/input? Thanks! I am trying to keep it simple.
  13. In some of the lakes that I fish, there are some monster bluegill along with the bass. Sometimes I will drop shot a nightcrawler with a bobber over the side of the boat that I'm not working for bass and let it sit out there. There have been a bunch of times that I glance over, see the bobber down, and pull in a nice one, bluegill and bass. It just adds a bit to the day.
  14. Great job!
  15. Still waiting for TW to ship mine!!!!!!
  16. So, I take it H2O is Academy's line of tackle? Well, not that I need more stuff, but...I guess I'll tell the wife that they are souvenirs from Chattanooga. Thanks for all the responses! Fish On!
  17. I'm down in Chattanooga, TN, with the family and saw that there is an Academy Sports nearby. We don't have Academy up in northwest Indiana, but I've seen it mentioned on these forums. Is it worth checking out? Or is it pretty much a Dick's/Gander Mtn.? Thanks!
  18. Ha ha! Thanks
  19. Every time I am on this site, or any other forum-type site for that matter, I keep seeing and reading one word that drives me nuts. NEWBIE! Newbie, noob, newb, whatever! Where did this horrible word come from and why do people still use it, or ever start using it for that matter? Maybe its just me, but reading that dreaded word drives me nuts. Sorry...had to vent. And no offense to the newbies.
  20. "Hmmm.... interesting armchair analysis from folks who weren't there. Curious as to how different these comments would be if the same thing had happened to KVD or Shaw Grigsby, and given the same exact same pictures and information." Very well said, Glenn!!!! The only ones that know what really happened are Ike and his marshall. Whether you like Iaconelli or not, they are both lucky to walk away unharmed.
  21. Just past the bottom for me works best (55lb. Minnkota on a 12' Alumacraft)
  22. Never give up!
