  1. I tend to agree with the notion that they are another "advertised necessity" in order to sell more rods.
  2. No matter who you are or how much you think you may know, you don't know it all. And this is the best place to learn. I know that I have.
  3. I have had luck using baby wipes. Really. Think about what they are made to clean. And they are gentle enough not to stain the cork.
  4. G&G Bait Company out of Indiana makes great spinnerbaits in pretty much any configuration that you can think of.
  5. 5 1/2 lbs. on a 1/2 oz. white and red spinnerbait. She followed it right up to the shore and nailed it . Had a pic on my phone, but that phone is in the bottom of a lake now. Oops!
  6. Use it for soft plastics. Its a lot smaller than BASS makes it look!
  7. I have used them before and I had to penetrate it with the hook twice, through the top of the head, underneath, and back up through the back end. This put it in a horizontal position and kept it on the hook bettter.
  8. Looks good!
  9. Hello from Dyer, IN!
  10. Wow! Maybe I should have put this in the "Jokes" section...
  11. I am waiting for ICast to get the new St. CROIX canepole and the Strike King KVD Neato Nightcrawlers, along with a bag of Havoc Ike's Crazy Creepy Crawlers.
  12. A bunch of overpriced stuff that I really don't need. A bunch of hype over something "new" that everyone will order and then have to wait 4 months to get. More stuff with either KVD or IKE stamped all over it. The absolute greatest fishing line ever, an extreme combo of mono, flouro, and braid that will float when you need it to and sink when you need it to, until 2014 ICast, when its upgraded.
  13. If you like spinning set-ups and feel comfortable with them, I see no need to change. Just my opinion...
  14. $300 for one rod is nuts, IMO. You can get quality for less than that. Fish don't care what name is on the rod.
  15. Not sure a Bass Fishing forum is where you need to be asking for this kind of advice...maybe a school counselor? Or your parents?
  16. I always wondered the same thing. Your a BASS pro, being followed by spectators and cameras, and you pee off the side of the boat?
  17. Repetitive motions and grips with your hands can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome. After years of working in the trades, pulling on wrenches, and gripping a fishing rod, my hands/fingers were numb all the time. Last summer I couldn't take it anymore and had surgery on my right hand. Much better now! If it continues, try wearing a wrist brace while fishing. It may not be fashionable, but it will keep you from bending your wrist, compressing the nerves in your wrist, causing the pain and numbness.
  18. Where are you in Indiana?
  19. You don't need a baitcaster to play with the "big boys!" I only use spinning gear and have no problem keeping up and catching fish. But, to each his own. Just keep workin' that reel and you'll be fine.
  20. How about a contest for us not on Fakebook?
  21. 2 words....spinning reel
  22. Got some for free, from the survey, and I like 'em. Especially FOR FREE! Not sure if I would buy any though with less expensive options available.
  23. Why did this make you mad?!?! You (hopefully) helped those little guys extend their lives for a little bit. Don't be angry; you should feel a sense of pride for helping.
