  1. That's exactly what I was thinking, but thought I would ask you all first. Thanks!
  2. 1 oz. - 4 oz. Lures, 15 - 40 lb test.
  3. Bass definitely aren't too picky when it comes to food. They have no problem eating their friends.
  4. If its flooded, fish the flooded banks as the bass will hang around new shorelines for a while. Look for new laydowns, trees, bushes, etc. that weren't wet before the rains and start there and work your way out farther.
  5. I was recently given an unused 9' rod, heavy action. Is there any bass application that you can think of that I could use this for???? It's awfully long....
  6. Just responding to a comment. That's all. I agree that most outdoor shows are totally rigged and edited, but it's still fun to watch.
  7. So don't watch it! But I'm sure if you had your own show, The Lucky Craft Man Fishing Extravaganza, if a sponsor with deep pockets wanted you to showcase their product, you would, too, whether or not anyone learned anything from it. No offense, really. But most outdoor shows are made to sell, sell, sell! If you really want to LEARN, you come to this site or Bassresource YouTube pages. Once again, not trying to be negative, just real. I watch the same shows, but I don't expect to walk away feeling like a better angler. It just better than 95% of the other crap on TV.
  8. They have to have sponsors in order to have a show. Of course they are going to mention/display whatever they are using to help out the sponsor! It is supposed to be entertainment. Try not to read into it so much!
  9. Fish will move up to new flooded shorelines and trees that were dry before. If the water level has risen that much, I would try these newly flooded areas and work your way out from there. Give it a shot....better than sitting at home!
  10. I don't have the luxury of fishing around a "forecast". If I have the time, I'm going.
  11. Fame, fortune, chicks....really, just some peace and quiet outdoors. Like most people, started out fishing for carp and bluegill. Once I landed a bass, it was all over!
  12. If you are comfortable with a spinning set-up, stick with that. You don't need a baitcaster. Like the others have said, just get an upgrade, but keep using the ultralite, too. A baitcaster won't help you catch more fish. But a heavier spinning set-up with give you the confidence to get those big bass. Confidence is more important than a high priced baitcaster.
  13. You can, just be careful with the amount of gear on board. That weight rating is a safety net for the manufacturer.
  14. Isn't that what this site is for? Without having high school losers trying to "friend" me?
  15. Ok, you whining pansy, its called BASS THUMB. Enjoy it!
  16. Problem is...I don't "like" Fakebook!
  17. BASS won't send you the goodies unless you pay in full, too.
  18. I have one and love it, too! Well worth $40!
  19. Sounds like a great day!
  20. Snapped my Sellus in half Sunday trying to free a snag. Good times!
  21. Just keep doing what you're comfortable with. If you can catch 'em on Texas rigged plastic, just keep working it. Try different presentations, slower or faster, weighted or weightless. You'll get them to bite. I was out this weekend trying everything and didn't catch any until I went with what I was most confident in....a Texas rigged Pit Boss and a Texas rigged worm. After that, they started biting. Even the crappies were hitting it.
  22. They are teasing you.
  23. Spinnerbaits. Big ones. And a rain suit. Good luck!
  24. Unless you have an abundance of cash for all of these set-ups, I would maybe start out with 3 rods/reels and master them before diving in on 6 or 7 at a time. You can still catch fish with 3 rods/reels. Maybe that's just me, though. I try not to overthink things and keep 'em simple. See what the guys/gals in your new bass club use for the lakes that you'll fish, and maybe build around that. Eventually you'll have a nice arsensal, but getting them all at once seems to me, at least, like overkill.
