Grubs, paddle tail swimbaits (like a Keitech or Zoom ZSwim), I would even throw a fluke on it. Shad Dart heads are really versatile.

Leland Lures (the Trout Magnet company) makes an underspin up to 1/4oz, 3 to a pack for $2.99. They use the shad dart shaped heads, and only come in three colors (pink, orange and chartreuse), but for the price point, you can't beat it.

Great Post... I have the 'big brother', the Ride 135; because I fish some larger lakes in addition to rivers. I haven't had any issues, even fishing some river areas that are really just wide 'creeks'(The Juniata being one). Are you going to pick up an Airpro Elevated? Two of my friends (who happen to be on Wilderness Systems pro-staff) have them and they love them. There is a video of them going over a class III rapid, with little to no problems on the Susquehanna River. They're not the type to 'blow smoke' so I take their word when they say the seat rocks..and I'm getting one myself. Also updating my crate to the new YakAttack Black Pack.. If you want a $100 Loomis rod, buy a TFO Gary Loomis Signature Series rod. They're in that price range and are a true Loomis, rather than a Shimano rod with the GLoomis logo slapped on it.
