Sure hope you all don't pay for that nice weather out west this summer. Heading to the lake today after my grandsons basketball game...it's been two weeks since I've been out. Hopefully I can tell a bite from being so excited and shaking
Remember once after a tournament many years ago a mom asked me to go get her son in a broken down jet ski. I did and she asked me what she could give me....I said please just don't tell all the other boats what I did. Ohhhhh what a look.
(He was one of those that likes to spin cookies in front of the ramp)
Got me to thinking of some of those feel good moments. Like what SirSnookalot says. No recognition necessary....the warm fuzzies are enough....karma isn't bad either.
I like the leader as I always have a full spool of line...unless of coarse I cast out a loop of braid and it forms a knot.
(many fishermen....many ways)
I was in a boat right beside Bryan when he was fishing the Nationals to qualify for that Classic. I had qualified from the west....he from the east. Definitely he was a class act....was sad.
I have a couple old photo albums' with all fishing and hunting pics of when family was growing up. (only thing allowed in) My son told me when it's my time to go that's what he wants the most is those two albums'
Been blessed for the most part
Tackle manager for two stores out west....Worked for Bumble Bee Seafood's when I was young (awesome)...had a hotdog cart for a couple years (met some good people and saw interesting things)...my best was getting to fish professionally for about five years and doing ok and then life took a dump.
Tight Lines
This cool weather means the smallies will still be biting and there won't be many at the ramps. Warm weather will get here soon enough and so will all the company on the water. Got nothing against getting a tan...but do love being one of the few at the ramp.
Can't pick one. Being a bass fisherman with a "boatload" of tackle I just can't.
From the tick of flippin a jig, a top water swirl, rod loading up on a crank, to the crush on an A-rig. LOVE IT ALL
Maybe they're trying to show that they care!!!! Or......maybe just adding to their growing list of posts. Or maybe they're curious that your curious why your so curious.
My dad and I never really did to many father/son trips. Usually had company. Last trip was to Canada for salmon...then Dementia set it. Was rough. Since moving to Tennessee I've seen quite a few chairs and bobbers by ramps and parks. It's the time we share together that's important. Doesn't have to be fancy....we all need to follow through more often.
Tight Lines
Just food for thought but area's around dams and boat ramps will usually give you the most bank access on your journey. There's an app for your phone (sorry don't know name) that shows all the lakes and runs bout 15 bucks. Just to keep things easy I'd go with a lighter outfit and fish shad raps (SR5...silver) and some smaller plastics on say 8#. Should get some action just about everywhere.
Have a safe journey
Interesting....I'm speechless. Thought it was good to help others and that no question was a stupid one. This would not be a site as good as it is if we all were just lookers. Life is a repetitive too in many ways....I'm glad for it....the other option I'm not a fan of.
