Fished all winter with braid...dipping the rod some days every other cast. Found the larger line roller on the Daiwa 1300ss froze less. If you left a wet rod sitting on the deck it would ice up. But ten pound power pro and six pound leaders were awesome with the smallies. Usually had only two rods on deck anyway due to what the bite was.

Go fishing...learning something new...have fun and relax. Teaming up is kind of like a marriage....a lot of give and take. Your doing this to learn and increase your knowledge of this sport I assume so go to class....listen,learn, and have fun.

I have fished Loomis, Lamiglas, Duckets, Lexa's, and a number of others over the years. Do not "personally" care to own just one brand. Unless of coarse I'm wearing a Jersey! All brands have good ones and also ones that feel like sticks without leaves.

Have had the pain too....especially in the hands. Do take fish oil and also vinegar and honey with water. Seems to help...really notice when I quit. Another biggie is to not eat so much refined sugar...bad ... bad ...bad. This is a toughie......love sweets.

You are right .... just checked they were released in 2013.....gunna have a little talk with my fishing partner...could be interesting. Did notice at BPS that it was hard to find the spinning model on the shelf. Hope it holds up....sure like the rod.

Have a bud who has fished them for five years he says and no problems.

Got to try out my new Ducket Ghost and Daiwa 1300SS this weekend. Have used the Daiwa's for years and love them but have never tried the Ghost's. Awesome...Awesome. Got the 7' med spinning and broke it in this weekend with smallies and largemouth. This outfit is a keeper and may have to add another to the list....maybe even a bait caster. Seems like a great value for the money.

Funny....very funny...thanks for the smiles. Remember last year when I had the acute pancreatitis. Doctor never said anything about not going fishing but it was sure hard to fish when I was bent over most of the time waiting for the pain. Remember fishing a couple hours a day and resting for two or three days. Then I caught a couple big stripers and held them up for pic and added a double hernia operation to the mix. That one slowed me the most....ouch.
