  1. Love braid/fluro leader on my flippin/pitchin stick. Use 20# leaders and the mussels don't cut my line nearly so bad. Seem to still catch a bunch of fish too. Great thing about this sport....so many options.
  2. Biggie for me ... especially when cranking is when the lure is close to the boat to hit the trolling motor. Have seen many fish in clear water following bait and do a 180 when they hear that sudden noise.
  3. Got tired of the fighting and theatrics .... same as the one chopper show that was on TV with the family. Guess would rather watch a golf game or a bass tourney as there's less fighting. Would rather not watch a lot of TV as far as that goes....
  4. Lived out in Oregon for sixty years....did not like or agree to most of the slime rocket (cold water fish) mentality. Do believe that the Indians do a ton of stocking in Washington so this too may give them some clout. Columbia was an amazing river for smallies....amazing. Remember tourists on the Columbia buying fresh salmon/steelhead out of trunks of cars at the boat ramps....yummmmm (no coolers or ice).....fresh that had been netted and sitting in 90 plus degree heat. You haven't lived until you've been going down the Columbia in high winds and there's a free floating net(not supposed to be) coming down the river and it gets in your prop.....yes ... your going to get wet. Like Crystal Gayle used to sing on advertisements.....Come to Tennessee....we're singing your song. I did...I love it. Hope gets better
  5. Wow....you need to get out more....
  6. I've seen some of the awards. Figured the sound wasn't so good as it was in such a HUGE arena. Not going to be to critical of country music as I like some of it. Some of it I don't and I've been listening for a long time. When I look and hear the sounds of my other choices on the radio country still sounds better...so have the option to press several buttons on the radio and I do. Best music to me though is being out on the water first thing in the morning and listening to the world wake up....and enjoying another day fishing.
  7. Yup...works good. with pitchin the heavier stuff like 40 braid and twenty fluro I do five braid and four fluro. Has worked well
  8. Early morning or points with a slight wind chop around rock. If you have a nice break close by that can be a plus. Season....all four can be awesome. Rainy days....awesome. Just getting to be on the water and fish em......awesome.
  9. On non tourney days I routinely pick up trash while in the boat. Carry several trash bags just for the purpose. Spring time high water has a bunch and you can pick up a ton of bottles while going down the lake.
  10. Love my Ghost and want another....store where I bought mine said he has only had one returned and he sells a bunch. Anglers must be less abusive in this area!?
  11. Does one also think about all the things too that we put into a car or house too that are totally unnecessary. Fishing is a good out that sometimes receives some extra money...but then why do we work....to save it to pass on to others? Will not go on....don't want to analyze what I really love so much.
  12. They must of had a bad day and didn't catch anything......
  13. Strictly a social golfer with the wife. It's her passion and mine is fishing. Do enjoy hitting the ball but will NOT take it to seriously as the frustration level gets high. It is a good stress relief to "KILL" the ball.
  14. Hmmmmmmm.......your mind was elsewhere. I've had those days too where it's probably better to just sit in a chair and read a book...safer
  15. Didn't watch it all but it was good.
  16. Decisions....Decisions....good luck. She sounds high maintenance.
  17. Good advice from those above....good luck
  18. Wow....maybe an owl decoy
  19. Everything is fishing good right now due to waters warming up and it being spring. You didn't mention whether boat or bank. Even so ...you may want to try Lewisville Pt. park...or Concord park. Both have fish now in the area....If your a bank fisherman and just stay in one spot it could be tough if you pick wrong. Good Luck
